Sounds good. Now with such a place that has an indoor clay track it maybe time for some people wont say names to try this 10th scale out again

Do your tires still get traction on that dirt oval in sub-zero temps? :p

Two words... Polar Vortex

=

No Racing!

I hate how the weather guys just have to have the catchiest most perilous sounding names for simple weather changes nowadays. Don't go to school today kids, the Polar Vortex will suck your lungs out right after it instantly freezes your winky off!!! Stay home and watch TV for all the possible updates you can imagine and make sure you soak up all those commercials too! Actually surprised they haven't tried naming this weather "event" yet, maybe something like Polar Vortex Gertrude!

Come back Greg! I'm sure we'll have plenty of newbies to bash with soon!

Listen up!

Racing:

We will begin racing this coming Sunday at 11am! Paul said that he should be there a bit earlier so if you want to show a bit earlier too, we'll be there.

Setup:

I will be heading down there 1:30pm Saturday afternoon to get us all set up and make sure everything is ready to go for Sunday, you are all more than welcome to come help and maybe horse around on the track a bit.

I will text this to those who's number I have too.

THANKS TO ALL!

I just want to say it's really good to see everyone pitch in like they do for our little club! I wouldn't even have considered getting this going down there by myself. I think we've got a new home, pretty sure it's clear to you guys as well. Paul gave us a place to store the track, his own track is on it's way and he's already looking at stocking option parts too... with everything that's going on right now in 1/28th, I'm almost certain that our ranks will grow.

In the obvious interest in new start-ups, we will be developing a new Stock Class in alignment with the eventual rental fleet that wil be sure to develop there. It won't be a box stock class, but it will be damn near it.

I'm thinking:

6 tooth pinion only
Alloy knuckles
80 turn or box stock motors
Spec T-plates
Ball or stock diff
Bearings
MR01, MR02 or MR03, 94-98mm only

This all depends on which route he goes with the rentals, but that's about where we should be for newbies.

K... Monster thanks to you especially! Excellent to have someone troubleshoot the laptop and get our program back up and running. Thanks for running a few races and talking to some of the newbies as well, wouldn't have been the same without you!

Totally agree. Went well. It's just a shame there was no Z stuff in stock to sell. I think he could have sold ready sets etc.....

sounds like a good opportunity for regional stock class events ;) the remnant guys have a good stock class going as does Hobby Works. we don't all have the same rules obviously but that can be worked out easily if we do some regional stock class events.

I know I could have sold two without even trying. Nothing says commitment like cash and I'm hoping many buy so many will race.

Regional Stock class would be an excellent gateway to the scale, would be real nice to have a starters package for newbies.

At hobby works I've modified our program to utilize a stock class to build entry and membership that can transition to more expensive HFAY. We just wrapped up our 1st 5 month season and starting our 2nd so it's going to take some time. Right now it's parents in HFAY bringing their kids and some using stock as practice time for HFAY since we essentially use next months HFAY track layout. I'm hoping to see incremental growth each season but it took years to get our club solid, an experience your very familiar with. :)

What size tracks are you running?

Arch, right now the big track HFAY was set up. We can go larger. Would like to see a PN sized regional track if possible.

wow, retail location that will accommodate that much space? sounds like a great place and opportunity

The place is huge, monstrous, ginormous! We could've fit two of the BTE tracks end to end and still had room for more pit space. And it's all in it's own stand-alone building. The owner not only threw his hat into the ring, I'm sure his a$$ went in there with it too.
