I am curious if the ICS programmer for the MR03 cars is a good invsetment or a waste of money? Is it a benefit to racing? And whats the right one to buy?

Hel* yeah!

I use it to program MR-02, MR-03, MR-03VE, MF-015, MA-015 and the buggy.
It can make a huge difference to a car if you do the right things.

I got a cheap one and it still works...

I know you can buy a really expensive one from Kyosho.
You can buy the Bluetooth one that can work with your phone.
Or the cheap one I got.

They all do basically the same and you might only need it that one or two nights to get your car "Perfect".

Think I paid something like $15 + shipping for it.
But then again, your car might be setup "perfect" from factory, but that you won't know until you check.

But I think ICS is one of those things that is great to have around a track. Maybe not just for you, but for a struggling friend who just needs to get a bit less waiting time to get his MR-03 into reverse.

But not all at your track needs one.

which one is that? i've always been interested in one but not paying for the kyosho unit and do not have an android device which it seems all the aftermarket devices support.

It is a very useful tool to have. If one person you race with has it then you may not need your own though. There are also several plans to make your own for only a few dollars. In some extreme cases it can make all the difference, such as when you install MR03VE electronics into an AWD car. A few setting changes massively improve the steering, it is a must have.

Tom, I have one, you're welcome to use it at the race if needed. I haven't really messed with it, maybe I should :)

For me it is absolutely essential.

They basically do the same, so buy the one you like (But it is real nice to be able to program the car with your phone at the track with the bluetooth programmer). Less stuff to pack :)

As i'm an android user the Blue tooth programmer was simply a no brainer for me :) cheaper then kyosho ics an no extra weight to kit to haul. Tuned my chassis's, tuned afew members cars at club also within minutes, its simple an easy to use :)
Big thanks to

I have the one that plugs into the KO Eurus but I can not find a way to speed up the reverse on my MR03???? I have 5 MR03's and this one is the only one that I am having problems with. I think that I have tried every adjustment with no luck. Can anyone tell me what setting changes the reverse time. Mine is taking about three seconds to go into reverse. Thanks MK

Mike,

Did you try defaulting the car back to factory first?

I have the usb ics programmer and there's an option to default it in the program. Not sure if the transmitter tool has that option. I should be at the next stock race at hobby works. If you are going to be there I can bring my laptop and set it up for you.

Thanks. I would like to see where you got it from. If it is not to costly I may pick one of those up. You should come by the Remnant track after the HW race. The way that you go home it is two minutes off of 95 at the Branch Ave exit in MD.
