Where can we have the discussion of LiFe( I said LiPo in another thread but meant LiFe)
for mod class? There is a charger on the market IQ-4X (http://www.teamorion.com/advantage-iq-4x-charger-us-version.html)

I'd like to mess around with this.

So that means the Kyosho brushless motor is not included?

stock class, no. there is no equivalent stock class brushless motor yet and the market is not saturated to the point where we move completely to VE.

worth discussing for mod class. it is mod class afterall. opens it up to the mrx etc.

I was referring to the Hfay rules linked.

good catch. the HFAY rules allow any 5600KV or less motor so the kyosho eco tune is permitted.

I've brought it up here because I don't recall a seperate mod thread.

I've only used the eco tune motor in my brushless and am happy to see its integration into hfay so it's interchangable for me between it and my 70t car.

If it makes a difference I could use one car for both with LiFe for those 3L tracks and NIMH for hfay.

i don't believe we have a thread for mod class... so here is fine till i start one at some point.

Yeah no biggy.

You know I like to go fast but I like to have a good time doing it. The competition is great at our club but most of all I have a great time racing. I'm not looking for an edge just something to do lol!

understood and support you on this :) not my cup of tea but always enjoy the show  maybe in another 10 years i'll work my way toward the top of mod but for now, still working for the top of stock/HFAY.

the goal remains for the club to provide that opportunity for all to scratch the itch, whatever that may be without ending up with 50 shades of HFAY. hell, i'd have a buggy and bike class if there were numbers to support it. trouble is, it comes at the cost of another class due to time and the numbers just have not supported dropping some other class in favor of a lesser supported class. i'm hoping that at some point we will have someone willing to take up anther Saturday or sunday or even a week day to run these other classes. i'm maxed out on my leisure time though so the mantle would fall to another and it's a real commitment of time, focus and at times patience, anyone that has run the club dates understands all to well.

True true. It would be a tough sell for me as well mainly because of participation. Remnant is also running during the week but I've yet to make it.

You have my vote to keep the current format. It's allowed the itch to get scratched for me. If I really need a scratch I just go down to Southern MD and Joey sets up a big track.

It's a snow day for me today so I'll get to the tuning.

I think at least 5 of us have buggies. It might be fun to run it as a special race maybe between Hfay seasons?

Joey and I have buggies. I'll bring it. Maybe we can start exploring running on the carpet. Let's start a seperate thread.

OK, integration of brushless with HFAY went off without a hitch.

FYI, aluminum motor spacers were already permitted in the rules for stock class. i simply extended them to RWD as well. we will discuss the balance of rule considerations on the 24th.

reminder, mod class permits any batteries, motor and electronics that fit a 1/27-28 scale chassis.

Good to know. I've recently switched from mm to rm stock class to run one chassis and body for 90mm and stock class.

arch2b
2015.01.12, 07:28 AM
what body?

i'll be running with the lamborghini lp500 for 90mm, the blistein R8 for stock rounded out with the mclaren 12c for mod. i still want to run the shell ferrari f40 for 90mm at some point.

byebye

The Viper. I've got all set to stock class. I'll run it for 90mm with a quick pinion change, ear plug and front springs.

Its running like a champ on the home track.

change of plan again, just made it simple and bought a 5v 10a ps for the club tire truer with 10ft ps power cable. hopefully i'll have it all glued down to a tile of some sort so it's not so portable since it will be left at hobby works. ;)

I've never used a truer so I'm looking forward to using it. You tried some for me and it made a huge difference right from the start.

3 wide l track layouts.

poochy

Ray, does that mean the track will L shaped 3 wide lanes?

arch2b
2015.01.21, 03:28 PM
3 Wide L layout refers to track tile count. HFAY track consists of 2 RCP Wide L track kits. HFAY BTE track consists of 3 Wide L track kits.

Good times as usual. Thanks again Ray. I was really happy with the low maintenance and upkeep of just running one car for stock and 86/90 class then one car for mod. I plan to bring back the 35t 90mm. I'm in love with it. I will probably go with my original plan of running the mclaren as a stock car/hfay/mod. Just have 2-3 chassis and one body.

I noticed some points were not given for races. Must be a software glitch huh?

i'm not certain how it awards points. i setup the series as a points series and understand only a little beyond that. took awhile just to find the points standings screen. nothing is really labeled in an easy to understand manner, must be a translation thing from native program language.

it was setup as a points series so that part was done, just need to tweak it i guess to better understand how they are distributed and how to work with system.

btw is anybody in the area looking to sell their RCP track? I am looking for two wide L's.

The club is also looking for donation of 3 straight tiles with rails to fully complement a HFAY BTE layout without borrowing :)

awsome.

FYI, since i left my PS with the track tire truer, i bought a converted server PS that outputs 12v at 75a max for home truer use. i'v inquired with the maker if the server PS has the typical 5v output and if so, can they make one for me. it's a really nice product, 10"x4"x1.75" on a 6' cord so it's a real space saver and easy to pack in a pit box.

I ordered the Hudy mini-z adapter for the tire truer, it arrived today.

Is that power supply 75 watts or 75 amps? 75 amps seems like a lot in that small of a box.

guys, i tried replacing my 4th gear and ended up dettaching 3 servo wires from the board....i tried soldering thm back but its just too small and was worried i was going to do more damage. is there an electrician shop nearby who i can go to for help?

Yeah that's an easy fix. I can take care of it next race day or sooner if you want to bring it to my house.

server ps are small packages, 900watt, 75amp, 2 12v output. they dont have the 3 and 5v step downs though, just 12v so i traded convenience for variation in output.
