Hey guys ----- new to F1 and have been playing around with the tires on the RCP and finding even with Med KS fronts and extra soft rear, after a dozen or so laps, I start to frequently cut corners, losing rear traction as it will hit the limit and just snap around all the sudden.

Letting off throttle prior to corner entry seem to give me more control but if I'm on power too early I spin.

I have the FRP side plates, pn motor mount, Kyosho top shock, front springs hard (yellow)

Maybe this is just a characteristic of the chassis but wanted to ask the experts --- it's amazingly fun either way!

Although........ the front IC tag compatible bumper will occasionally grab under one of the RCP rails quite annoyingly. I'm trying to figure out a way to carefully peel one of the ic tag stickers off and somehow affix to the Shapeways front lips I have ------- any thoughts there? I asked a contact at Kyosho if I could buy a few of JUST the stickers but they only sell as is with the plastic "holder plate"

Thanks again guys

Just heard from Kyosho contact that it's pretty much impossible to peel one without ruining it. Someone there tried with a Dnano to no avail

I guess I can either try to fuse the front of the Shapeways with the IC Tag portion of the Kyosho OR get a different transponder system for the F1 only (which would be a PITA/absurd)

Any ideas would be great

what timing systerm are you using?

know you can initialize the generic tags to be used with the Kyosho timer and software using the initializer the was make. then you can use the generic tags however you need on whatever front end you are running.

We used the generic tags years ago and they were much cheaper and much smaller then the old Core tags. I am not sure what transponder tags you are using.

Not sure if you can find some softer side plates or not. Another thing that will help is to round the outside edge of the rear tires. No need to do the inside edge of the rear tires. What our group uses is a drywall sanding block. You pull the throttle and take the sanding block to the outside edge. You will notice a big difference. If those two don't do it I have one more thing you can try.

Touch the rear tires on your truer.....just enough to scuff them.

Thanks for all the input ...... I'll try that on the tires guys and I do have PN soft side plates... should I try them? I had the rear springs out and now in --- should I get them out again like Cowboy recommended?

As far as the timing system, we are using Flipside with the Kyosho laptimer strip under the track. We are using the OEM IC Tags now (and our dnanos have them already obviously)

PLEASE direct me to some compatible transponders that will work with the IC Lapt Timer/Flipside that we can fit inside the F1 shells........ thanks again for the input

I actually use the larger transponder and tape it to the bottom. I cut a hole in the transponder so I can access the power switch. you just need to be a little careful when you change batteries to keep it all together.

I'll try and get you a pic tonight.

I have the part numbers for you but I'm looking at all my sources and it looks like they are all labeled as out of stock with a note that says "End of Life" We might need to find some alternate trasnsponders that will work with the system.

here are the part numbers of tags that are known to work

RI-I02-114B-01
RI-I11-114B-01

what they are is a Texas Instruments 13.56MHz 256bit RDID transponders.

btw, i've hard that the kyosho fiction damper does not really work well. however i've read some post from 2010 that few people actually liked how they perform, does anyone has any commend on that?

I've been running the kyosho friction Shock set. (MFW16) I haven't had any issues with it, I did change the setup a little and I'm using a PN damper post and PN damper springs with it.

My F1 handles very well. :)

Thanks Brian --- I just found second part # here and ordering:

So these are just a sticker? how thin? and I guess the Kyosho IC tag strip will just read it like any other MZW113 OEM IC tag from Kyosho ?

here are the pictures of how I have the transponder mounted to the bottom of my F1. Hope this clears it up for you.
