Nice, pre-body kit 180 and sil-eighty. The Impact Blue sil-eighty has to be around the corner...

Shouldn't these be in a " New Autoscales for 2017". Or at minimum 2016, instead of 2015?

they were posting to incorrect thread ;) this has been corrected :)

On the white body, one can swap the front end and choose between silvia s13 or 180sx nose, so sil-80 or 1-via combos are possible :D

Could these finally be the first 94mm WB Porsches? If so that'll be awesome specially if +2 offset wheels can be fitted in the back.

I searched, couldnt find any images. Odds are that its the old mold with new paint. Its definitely a narrow body... so will probably be 90mm. Possibly the updated version from the Dnano... I would love to see a wide 94mm Porsche.

I was hoping its modeled after the current 911 GT3 RS (Best looking 911 to date imho) which in real life has a longer wheelbase than previous generations and fingers crossed that may translate into a 94mm mini-z & the new plastic 94 MM pod... guess just have to wait and see.

I've never hear nor seen any info about these 911...
The first gen 911 were terrible modeling wise although I like the Taisan...
934 RSR are much better in terms of model quality.
Anyway, I've added them on the list, thanks.

+1. That generation of GT3 is just so spectacularly good looking. Go to youtube and watch a few videos of people hooning around in one. The sound of that flat 6 is spine tingling.

If they did the 997 GT3 RS 4.0, that would also be amazing :D

Here we have a surprise.
Kyosho never released a white R32. There was a white NISMO R32 but R246 did release a white regular R32 but only the body, without dummy chassis nor tires/wheels.

I guess it wasn't that difficult to put the R246 body on a dummy chassis and rerelease it as a whole autoscale... ;-)

I imagine the process of licensing products is difficult and protracted which is possibly why we don't see more cars that we want. Perhaps Kyosho has approached various auto manufacturers and asked for their blessings, only to be turned away or discouraged by unreasonable demands.

All that said, bleh!!! The last time I was genuinely excited about a new autoscale was the McLaren 12C. Everything since has been underwhelming.

arch2b
2017.09.27, 05:15 PM
there has been some information provided as to how Kyosho selects models and yes, it very much has to do with licensing. you would think ford/chevy/gm would be all over it though. they license so much toy garbage already.

Economies of scale is my guess. They (Ford/Chev/GM) might demand a big royalty payment up front and then a percentage of each product sold. For toy manufacturers this probably isn't a big deal since they plan to make a few million of them and then push the inventory off to suppliers and make selling it their problem, so there isn't much risk. Given how long it takes Kyosho to restock some Mini-Z items they probably only make *just* enough to meet demand and carry very little overhead because demand is modest. It would not make sense to pay a huge royalty fee for 10,000 Autoscale bodies given how expensive they are getting already, especially if they release a dud that nobody likes.

arch2b
2017.09.28, 06:14 AM
the up side is, new bodies! it's a big uptick, in large part due to the new chassis but i'll take something over nothing. i'll take re-issue over nothing. I keep hoping Kyosho will release a poll for requests like they did many years ago before we got the influx of us market autoscales.

I've been hoping for a white Skyline GTR R32 N1 re-re since the release of the original ICS set that came with the body/wheels. This will look great on my MR015 ASF :D.

Toyota Prius?!?!?! c'mon Kyosho; plenty of LMP1 cars within the past few seasons you could have picked from Toyota's stables. Even the early 2000's Celica would have been better if you're looking for a FWD car. I don't know what is more sad, Toyota with no sports car in the line up or Kyosho picking the Prius from Toyota's line up.

herman
2017.10.17, 11:47 AM
from the pictures, and from what i've read... looks like the new mazda and prius will have a LL chassis setting... a bit kind of odd to me... i was thinking that the mazda would be a M, and the prius either a M or L at the most... having it at LL just looks like a bit bigger scale car... maybe closer to 1/24... but of course they are all based on pictures...

however the new 911, even at a M chassis setting, looks a bit bigger compared to the older 911...

wondering what type of rims they will be... awd rims? and offset?

also wondering what chassis setting the new nsx will have... if it's anything like the previous, hopefully LL... rim offsets?

garage hiro has started coming out with body kits for these new bodies... and boy they look pretty cool...

wondering what kyosho will be coming out with next...

guess you can say that i've been doing a lot of wondering lately.... :D

arch2b
2017.10.17, 11:52 AM
yeah, not sure what to make of morphed scale compacts. Kyosho has always morphed scales to get cars to fit but it's going to be odd having a compact pruis bigger than a supercar. what becomes of 86-90mm compacts when similar compacts get blown up to fit 98mm wheelbase?

arch2b
2017.10.20, 07:09 AM
...wondering what type of rims they will be... awd rims? and offset?

also wondering what chassis setting the new nsx will have... if it's anything like the previous, hopefully LL... rim offsets?.... :D

from their blog (mazda). You can infer they are using AWD wheels as the offsets are provided for AWD.
For details of the body ...

Total length: 156 mm

Full width: 70 mm

Height: 57.0 mm

Wheel base: 98 mm (LL)

● Chassis used: MA - 03F (FWD)

* Of course, it is also possible to be mounted on the MR-03S chassis of RWD.

● Front wheel offset used: Narrow + 1.5 mm (for AWD)

● Rear wheel offset used: narrow + 1.5 mm (for AWD)

And we are.
