I picked up both the 4 Runner (red) and Jimny (yellow). I think they look even better in person. Typical high quality Kyosho bodies as usual. I’m not sure when I’ll open them and take them for a spin. I have plenty of foam rocks (spray from can) as well as foam board laying around. I wouldn’t mind creating some kind of modular layout to run them on. Hmmm....

I just picked up the yellow Jimny fromHobby Works this weekend! Completely agree on the stunning detail on the Autoscale. It's not fast at all, I can get around my 30cm track at full throttle. That is if I'm not simply running over the rails.
Not sure what I'm going to do with mine just yet. I don't really have a need for a crawler but I do like building scale things so could have some good scale modeling fun with it. Lots of people printing accessories for these now.
Lets hope Kyosho gets more american models like the forthcoming Bronco, the Wrangler into the lineup. I'd love to see some luxury models in the line as well. Wonder if I would be the first to gear it up and lower it some for racing?

Nice! I encourage you to try it for what it is first......before gearing it down for racing. Wouldn’t be anything wrong with gearing it down for racing though ;-) It would be so much fun to try and set up something layout wise to scale. It wouldn’t have to be huge. Hills/inclines, rocks, bridges, gates etc. to go through (without touching the gates). All this mind you while timing it. Deduct time for roll overs, touching lane gates when you go through them etc. Doing something like that would get the old heart rate pumping in a different way other than the speed racing of the Z’s....I bet you’d thoroughly enjoy it! The Mini Z line (throughout the years) is my favorite form of RC by far. I’m including dNano in that as well. My second favorite.....Tamiya kits;-).
