2002.09.05, 06:37 PM
Tom's Castrol Supra, or just a stock Supra? Also, any pics yet?

2002.09.05, 06:55 PM
hoping for Tom's Castrol Supra but don't doubt it'll be the street car version. They'll both be good, but Kyosho definately needs to put out more race spec bodies!

2002.09.05, 07:22 PM
not to mention a New Impreza WRC body.... hehe

2002.09.05, 07:40 PM
did you know that they are going to make a F40? i found someone selling 2 yello ones on E-bay

2002.09.05, 08:31 PM

SUPRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2002.09.05, 09:03 PM
I would be happy if they made a white one. Then I cound make a Tom's Supra myself. Or even the Sard or a couple of others with the decals from Studio 27. I just wish getting Studio 27 decals and detail parts were easier.

I hope its the street supera.....or like a TRD 3000GT...

2002.09.06, 04:13 AM
mryung... wow... when? when?... what will the supra look like? wrc type???

two f-40's landed in the shop a couple days back... looks really yummy...

2002.09.06, 05:53 AM
must admit, when it comes to the supra, you can't beat the Tom's Castrol version. Super slammed, wide body kit, ribbed hood, large wing.. Gran Turismo all the way.

here's a pic of toyota tom's supra by tamiya.

(hmm. i wonder if this body can fit on the miniZ?)

2002.09.06, 10:34 AM
i cant remeber who it was, but someone did a really good job of adapting that tamiya model

2002.09.06, 11:20 AM
i would sell my soul for a kyosho made tom's supra.... bring it on! :D

2002.09.06, 11:38 AM
This is why I prefer tom’s castrol supra over a street supra

it's alright but a little bland once you've seen the race car.
tamiya’s got what it takes to make detailed versions of the real thing. Here is a string of pics from their site. The street cars are ok but you can’t deny the race cars are where it's at. Feast your eyes on these:

wouldn’t it be great if tamiya joined kyosho to make more bodies for the mini-z’s. Looking at the mercedes CLK DTM cars in this string, it looks like kyosho did a pretty good job getting close to what tamiya offers as models.

2002.09.06, 01:28 PM
you would never see a TCS driving around on the street:(

Too bad that would be bad ass....

Why don't we contact tamiya and see if they like the idea, then get them to contact Kyosho and offer their services.

They've already got the moulds... they just need to pour something a bit stronger than model plastic into them ;-)

Dream on.... dreamer.... *pffft*

Of course they might have some evil plot where they'll slowly release different bodies every quarter or so. you know, first the castrol supra next month (i hope), then the nismo skyline in january 2003, followed by the ford focus WRC three months after that....

it would be torture, but i think people would be willing to wait knowing more good cars will be produced.

2002.09.06, 03:07 PM
torture thats what kyosho is best at (>_<)...only releasing on Pcar....:(

2002.09.06, 10:31 PM
:ö: is it the Pajero with redesigned 4wd mini-z chassis??!!... if it is.. then.. COUNT ME IIIIINNNNN!!!! YYYAAAHHHOOOO!!!!.. one more month to wait... one more month to wait... man i'm soooo excited!! AAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!! I CAN'T WAIT ANY LOOONNNGGEEEERRRR!!!!... hehehe :D-æ

Kyosho dude at the Show told me it'll be released next year, Jan/Feb.

...in the US that is. I'm sure a few luck bastards will get their hands on them sooner.

2002.09.09, 11:31 AM
Probably more than a few, with all the sellers in H.K. putting up auctions on ebay.

I meant "few" in relative terms to all the hounds that are hunting for them.;)

2002.09.09, 07:10 PM
Don't worry, we'll get them long before the US does! :D I've got some new faxes from Japan showing more info - can anyone read Japanese?

2002.09.09, 07:17 PM
Also remember the pajero body is a longer wheel base then the mini-z racer... so the bodies wont easily be changeable... i think the shortest setting on the bugyy chassis is what the longest setting on the mini-Z racer is 94mm...

2002.09.09, 09:08 PM
Peugeot 206 is long setting!!! LOL Rally time!!!

Also remember that the bodies mount differently.
But how much different?

Yeah, post them, maybe some of us Japanese speakers can translate or fill in each others' gaps!

At Mini-z Bar they have a listing, and pictures, of pretty much all of the mini z bodies. For the new ones they have "Comming Soon" instead of pics. But, the Supras are going tobe Tom's Supra and the Cerumo Supra!! All listed are two new NSX's, Mugen NSX 2002 and Takata Dome Mugen NSX 2002!! Also listed are two Le Mans Corvettes!! :D They list release dates as well, though don't know how accurate they are, of 10/2002.

Strider-/Rick, could you email me and I'll send the scans - in order to make them readable (they are faxes) they have to be scanned at high-res, and I don't want to post the high-res version due to the amount of bandwidth that would be eaten. Will post a low-res version with your translation! Thanks guys!
