View Full Version : Woo Hoo! Overland in California

My Overland came on Thursday and I launched it immediately!
The body and paint on the 201 Pajero is top-notch. It perfect for running on any surface in the house. It is definitely NOT made for the dirt! Although, after I buy a couple more, at least one of them will see some outdoor use.
Warning!! Very top heavy! It will flip if turned too abruptly and will actually hop up and flip when I go over the little bump from the kitchen linolium to the carpet too fast!
Still does not compare to the old Kyosho 1/20th scale Baja Bug. Still a very cool peice of engineering and I can't wait to get another one so I can start building this one up!!

would you suggest buying a 1/20 baja bug. or stick with a overland with upgrades?

Well, get both if your into it:D
It depends on how you want to drive.
The Baja Bug is, by FAR, a better vehichle. However, they have been out of production for many years and parts are more rare than a republican in San Francisco.
I happen to have three Baja Bugs, one for running and two that are brand new in boxes (with original batteries and chargers) that are probably worth more in the box and un-built than they would be built and running.
However, if you don't care about collection value, the Kyosho Baja Bugs are the only real off road micro RC car and they ROCK.
My bugs are for sale. But, the Overland is going to have all kinds of hop-ups and parts for it will be available for a long time into the future.
I can post more pictures of either the Overland or the Bugs if anyone wants.
Here is a pic of the difference in ground clearence
