Just mounted a PT Cruiser body to my O. The large wheel flares allow for lots of trimming without it looking too funky. The shell is from a cheap (less than $10) set I found at a discount store months ago.
Lowers the high weight placement of the original Pajero body and makes it actually look in scale to other Z's. I'll post pics soon.

Looks good!
I'm thinking a nice vw beetle body would look right at home on the overland.

Buzzer,
The Autoscale VW is a bit short, but maybe one of the 1/25 model shells. Unless of course you are doing a monster truck type mount.
Give a shot and keep us posted.
The PT is my thrashing body. I'll give it a simple but bright paintjob and keep that nice Pajero clean. Besides, it was laying around the workbench just begging for a chance to be useful.

Cool!
I cant wait for my overlands to arrive soon!
Who makes that body? Was it a rc car first?
Thanks
Mike

Don't know who made it. I saw it in a discount dept. store and thought that it looked about scale. Originally mounted to a tintop, but didn't post it 'cause Mr. Mondo had started working on a PT tintop project.
The PT has a lower cab height and helps reduce the rollover factor. Also the front bumper is just above the skid plate so it "works". Not too much interference from the bumper on extreme obstacles. Good thrasher body!

LOL!
Erm, I stumbled across that (still) unfinished project of mine a couple of days ago.
I was also contemplating the possibility of it being "Overlandish".
As it's a kit, the wheelarches are not as progressive as yours.
I may finish that one fine day.. when the Overland and Micro RS4s stop consuming all my time :p
the bright color burns my eyes:mad:
wait ill use these:cool:
thats better
i cant imagine a real pt cruiser rally car. that thought is more frightening then the color of the paint
nice job though

10 reasons for the PT Bruiser and color choice:
1. The shell was laying around
2. It just about fit
3. It only cost $10 bucks including the original electronics
4. I couldn't stand to keep rolling my Pajero on the concrete
5. The colors are my trademark racing colors less burgundy
6. "If it ain't bright it ain't right" excuse the Southern drawl!
7. I really had a problem seeing the black when transitioning a curve
8. I was bored and needed a new challenge
9. My wife cleared the table of her painiting project
10. It hadn't been done!!
im telling you with the sunglasses it looks fine:cool:
give it a try
