everyone seems excited about doing wheelies, but there are a lot of people stripping gears also, so apparently use caution.

Re: stripped gears..is there an issue with the mesh of the gears that are stripping? Is the mesh adj on the gears that r stripping? Hmmm....or if the mesh is cool, I guess they have simply made the gears out of a poor grade of plastic. Will Kyosho ever get a micro RC car 100 % right? Very doubtful i guess....eh?;)
edit: I would question the durability tests they perform on the cars if things like stripped servo gears, burnt FETs, stripped drive gears etc are more than common for the Mini Z/OL. They probably baby them around a padded room on 2 cells and go "yeah this is one tough little car!":D

I really beat the crap out of my mini-z and it still runs as good as new. I think kyosho did a pretty good job with it.

Yeah I did sound a little negative in my previous post, but I still think the cars need improving on. It is a tough little beast, ...but....;)

From other posts, I gather that the overland should NOT be jumped, unless your willing to risk a stripped gear.. any minor jumping even one rear wheel off the ground is potential for the wheel being powered with no load, wich will be an increase in road speed over its landing speed.. thus it will be like sudenly stopping the gears... thus casing wear and each landing impact is probly enough to cause problems.. the gears are double reduced so the torque is plenty...

false I jumped mine all wheels off ground somtimes 6 7 inches. I did it for about 7 hours when mine finely stripped.

Thanks for all the replys. I got it form this site. It is kind of a ugly body but I wont be mad if I scratch it up.

Just let off the gas after you take off so you don't strip the gears when you land. The nose might drop though. A better way to do it is to leave the wheels spinning and hit the brakes right before you land so that the car can roll at its own speed.

:ö: maybe Kyosho is coming up with an alloy gears as a hop-up, stripping an alloy/metal gears on a small scale truck is quite impossible even under extreme condition.
