So, I see all these lovely Overlands and they are still not available in the UK yet.
Mini-Z are you going to get some Overland readysets in?

Then, after reading Kevin's (BLiND's) Post, Mondo wakes up to the fact the Overland is available at the Mini-ZRacer.com shop.
Time to place an order...

One Overland ordered from the MZR shop :)
Now to examine the Forum for hop-up choices.. damn, it never stops...

Hey Mondo, do you think there is anyway for me to fit my bricks into the overland? I can't tell jack squat from the pictures but I think the side mounted AAA battery holders can easily be removed and replaced with permantly mounted brick cells (since the bricks are roughly half the thickness of a AA battery)

1000mAH and the added punch of the larger cell should power the little truck nicely :)

then just gotta find some replacement wheels for the god awful red ones that my overland is comming with. I can't wait for my new toy to get here!

Yeeha!
Ordered, paid for and shipped, my beloved Overland should be here in 10 days or so.

SteveGodfrey

Feel free to send me a message via the Forums, then perhaps we can hook up together and I'll show just how ridiculous I get when it comes to Mini-Zs and Micro RS4s! :D

BLiND

Kevin, thanks for reminding me, I need to order some brick cells from you.
The Mini-Zs take 2 x AAA batteries, so you should be able to measure the space by doubling the height of two AAA cells.
Even if the Ofna bricks dont fit perfect, I'm sure they can be adapted to most Mini-Z's (with the exeption of the Formula-1 which holds them underneath) without too much fuss.
I am sure that manufacturing alternative battery clips should be a breeze.
Agreed, the 1000mAh rating would deliver wicked run times

I 'm new to this forum and I can't PM you. I don't have any small scale RC's yet, other than a BitChar-G! I have a T-Maxx and HPI RS4 MT (elec).

My email address is DervScenicMan@Hotmail.com

Cheers

speaking of waiting...sheesh

I orderd my overland a full 5 hours before I ordered 12 AAA NiMH 700mAH batteries for it on eBay, and today my order of batteries came in, from NEW YORK post marked on Dec. 31 and shipped FIRST CLASS, not Priority!!!

Where is mzr.com located, and did they take a vacation before shipping the overlands or what? How come something shipped priority takes longer than something shipped first class?

GRR I can't take this waiting! How small of a box am I looking for? In the videos the trucks look like they are smaller than a hand! (forgive me, I've never seen or driven a Mini-z)

k, blind, first of all, your avatar is f***in awesome. :D secondly, wednesday was a national holiday, so the USPS took a day off, which should have delayed shipping some. I ordered an overland on the 29th or 30th, and it just came today. the box is about 1' x 1' x 6" tall. ;)

BLiND

where was the shipping location from for your overland from mzr.com?

BTW - http://members.sounddomain.com/blind

if you like mud, checkout the pics of my old truck on...page 4 I think it is, its a ford, but it was better in the mud than my GMC is (the GMC spins the tires at a hint of throttle, damn 300hp v8's :D )

:ö: ei Mondo (or any guys there in UK) , i would like to ask the same thing, where can i get an Overland Z in UK, not via internet :(, a friend of mine, in UK, ask me, want i want as a gift before she visits Manila again, and i told her about the Kyosho Overland Z, and yesterday she called me, telling me that she'd been to the biggest Toy Shop/ Hobby Shop she can find in UK, but still she can't find any! :(, i don't want her to use her Credit Card to order it via internet, i think that's too much to ask for..., so.. any info where she can find that rare piece of machinery? thanks for any help ;) - æ

killer,

I couldn't find any Overlands in the UK either. I sent a mail to the UK Kyosho Distributor who informed me they would be here in late February, early March.
I ordered mine from the Mini-ZRacer.com Shop

BLiND

Now I know what mine will look like :) Fortunately my Char-G is protected by a pair of Micro RS4s, so my Overland will have to behave itself.
Wow, now I have the entire Mini-Z collection, two Racers, two F1s and an Overland - once it arrives.

I received a slip from the Postal Service in the letterbox.
They have a parcel that is: Too big for my letterbox
My wife will collect it for me tomorrow morning :)
Has my Overland arrived?
I'll keep ya tuned in :)

SteveGodfrey

The batteries are charged and ready to go :D

Mondo

Hehe, it's here.
My wife collected the parcel from the Postal Depot this morning :)
She informed me it's a box from the U.S.
Damn, can't wait until I get home tonight, then I get some serious playtime on the go.

Now that's impressive service, it's taken 8 days to get to me in the U.K. from Mini-ZRacer.com
I expect nothing less though, I've had nothing but great service from here.

Now I can't wait until the Mini-ZRacer.com shop gets some hop-ups in.

Yesterday I ordered some GPM oil shocks from that Web based auction site, I'm such a sucker, I don't bid at all, I just click the Buy Now option.

So far I have the following hops ops en route to me:

Spare pinion set
Bearings
GPM Ball-diff
GPM oil shocks

After I've given the Overland a good looking over, I'll see for myself what other parts are worth ordering.

I'll take some photos of the GPM parts when they arrive and inform you Members of my thoughts on quality and functionality.

Exposure = Addiction

Oh,

Any idea what frequency the U.S. Mini-Z's use?
27MHz AM, 40MHz AM?
Just curious..

BLiND
2003.01.10, 04:46 AM
mine's 27mhz and is on channel 02

AKA "green"

me thinks mondo will be illegal overthere ;)

Mondo
2003.01.10, 08:00 AM
Damn!

Another unused 27MHz Prefix handset LOL!
I have so many of those Kyosho Prefix handsets now.
At last count it was 4 with another two on the way.
One with the Overland and the second coming with the Mini-Z Viper GTS I bought second hand.
Perhaps it's time to stick these things on Ebay :p
