This is my WRX slammed as much as possible. I had to do a little bit of work with my dremmel, but after a few hours its complete. I also installed a wide rear axle in the back so the wheels fill the body better(also involved some dremmel work).

The is not all show either, its powered by 6 cells and 36 fets. And a NML designed motor.

thanks for looking
I will be posting more pics up soon of my other NML powered Z's

Firstly, nice WRX
Seeing this is the gallery, why not post a pic of the chassis with that big bad FET upgrade in a close-up :)
I'm also curious to see how the 5th and 6th cells are mounted.

No, I dont wanna steal NML's secrets, I think many Members would like to see what resides under the bodyshell

I'm suprised it took so long. Who would not want to see a 30-something FET stack and 6-cell layout?

Thanks :)

The Black Strip taped to the battery holder is where the 36 fets are located.

omg that is sweet . is it controlable ?

MazdaSpeedRX-7
2003.04.19, 10:14 PM
Of course, I have 3 degrees toe in and it goes pretty straight. Also since I have a tight suspension, and its about 2 mm of the ground it handles very good.

is that NML and MysterE work or just NML...
how much would this set you back and would it fit under the CLK or NSX or the EVO6 (i think)

it makes me wanna get 1... i think i will... but not at the moment, i spend my $$$ a little 2 qwik and i got nothing 2 show... so from now on im saving for this thats how keen i am

MazdaSpeedRX-7
2003.04.19, 11:15 PM
Its an NML motor, and MysterE did the FET work. it wont fit in the NSX, it will only fit in taller cars like ClK, WRX, EVO, TT, SkYLine, and a few others. Its an unbelieveble setup. Everytime I bring it out in front of my other Mini Z friend. We both just cant believe how fast it is. I am not sure the cost for this upgrade because I already had the 24 fet stack in their and the 6cells. I had to pay extra for more fets and labor and some other things.

But if you want something that will amaze you everytime you drive it. NML and MysterE setups are where to go.

P.S. to everyone who wants to know what deadly this setup sounds like. Get your dremel and turn it all the way up. And thats pretty much what it sounds like.:)

MazdaSpeedRX-7,

Thanks, that is one wicked WRX. I worked out straight away that the FETs were externally mounted, doesn't look to bad either.

Be sure to post some video footage of that beast :)

i do solidly believe that if you got the right size wings you could go off a cliff and fly your mini-z.

And how long are the run times with all that stuff.

Maybe when i do my FET thing ill get some styrofoam wings and try to fly

of course.

;) powered by NML, baby. Anyone else wanna take their Z to another level (NML)?

How's your RX-7 with the 13x2 Fuzion? Hope it's meeting or exceeding your expectations. Thanks again, Dana. It's always a pleasure to serve highly valued customers like you.

Rod,

The rx-7 is amazing, I will post pics up on wednesday or thursday. I am waiting for a few different parts for it, and then it will be complete. Its pretty much done now but I want it to be %100 complete before I post pics. But its definetly by far my favorite car. It handles so good because it has the lowest C.o.G. than all my other Z's. But I cant wait for you to see it. There is not a singles stock part on the car, from the wheel nuts to the diff.

Dana

P.S. If anyone is tired of BSing around the Z game with low end motors and turbos, and want real true speed that is super reliable, NML ALL THE WAYYYY!!!

OH GEEZ all this talk of NML and FET's is geed up....

i sweere i have 300 bucks 2 pay off and then i am saving all my $$ and u noe where it is going.... to the hands of a pro....

NML how much will a 5th cell and a FAT FET stack, like lets say something like a 18x2 (i think that is 36 all up:confused: ) but if i get enought $$$ for it (i will eventually.... i plan on putting away like 50 bucks a week...) and will it cost more 2 put in a 5th cell with a switch foir on/off like PSYKLOPS' Z....... OH YEAH AND CAN'T 4GET THE MOTOR IN EVERY1'S MOUNT... NML of course... and are your sure it will fit under a CLK or a EVO... and what are good hop-ups for this MONSTER MOD.. all handeling mods??

MazdaSpeedRX-7
2003.04.21, 10:23 AM
It will easily fit five, I can put 6 in my wrx, and I over 1/4 of and inch clearance between the batteries and the roof. Dude if you do it you wont regret it.

2003.04.21, 10:38 AM
for sure i am gunna put everything else on hold... except the 300 bucks coz my bro will slap me sill and i wont know how 2 control that much speed:D ...

so i will send it out when i get enuf and find out how much...
or do u think i shuld get a F1 PCB so i got brakes.. will it be an advantage? coz i think i will need them and i would prefer them 2 coz my 3 bros will.. sorry are gunna thrash it and i want it 2 stop quickly....

how exactly does the breakes on a F1 work? does it still have reverse and will i need a different Tx 2 run it?

2003.04.21, 10:40 AM
oh and how do the treaded tyres work... is there any advantage in grip or just for show? and what degres grip are you running? i got stock still....

MazdaSpeedRX-7
2003.04.21, 11:18 AM
I have GPM 10c tires, treaded in the back. They stick as soon as you drop the clutch, lol. But in the front just stick with stocks, because with all this speed you will flip to easily with anything stickier. I aready made that mistake on my onld skyline body. When you are going full speed and flip, trust me its not pretty.

2003.04.21, 08:47 PM
so 10 degree on the rear and then stock in the front... got it.
what is the stock degree of tyres i keep 4getting:D

All you ned to do is throw a wide axle in the back and you are set.

arch2b,

The car is brand new, never ran. I'm pretty sure it would handle well. This is one of the cars that is offered to customers with 16x2 fuzion (motor and fet combo)

But since nobody bought it, I decided to keep it.

Dana,

Thanks for the tip, bro. I'll probably pick one up in the future. Next will be my FD3S with Modena Rims and NML lowering kit.

btw, the one pictured is my RC10L3 Touring Pan Car. It is 1/10th scale. Since you're an FD3S fan, Dana, thought I'd share with you. Speed is around 60 - 63 mph. 7 cells, 10x2 motor.

this may sound retarded, but here's my question...

I really like the way the subaru looks, but the only reason I haven't bought a mini-z is - the only one I want is the subaru (new style, like yours) but one thing has been holding me back...the rear tires are so freaking skinny it just looks dumb to me.

Is it possible to fit wider rear wheels and tires on the WRX? I don't want alloy rims if possible, but I would like a nice looking set of 5 spokes...

Cian
2003.05.15, 07:43 AM
They're skinny, but they are offset more than standard, I reckon it should be possible to fit wides on the back, as it is wider than the older WRC or WRX shells...

MazdaSpeedRX-7
2003.05.15, 09:56 AM
You could definetly pull it off, but you just have to do some dremeling.

Dana

I've successfully intalled an ESSO Supra BBS Rims, and CLK Rims directly. I guess out of all wide rims, these are the narrowest.

They all look good on the car, in my opinion.

Where do you get the wide axle from?

MazdaSpeedRX-7
2003.05.15, 11:57 AM
Da Shop $22

It is just the axle so you have to get another diff and use the parts to make the whole thing. I bought a Kyosho Diff, so it is a Wide Kyosho Diff, that runs super smooth.

arch2b
2003.05.15, 12:17 PM
exactly what does the wide shaft do for you? is it longer so you don't have the problem of not having enough shaft to screw the wheels on....

I have a Kyosho ball diff in mine... but I didn't know they came in wide and narrow

I looked and I didn't see the wide axle listed... Help

It makes the rear wheels sit wider apart for better handling.. and better looks with wide bodies
