I had a tutorial session with Mike K., thanks for your time and help :), however there are some aspects that were not fully known. i'm hoping i can get some assistance in creating a championship setup that i can import or open on our track computer to run HFAY for seasons 14 starting in July.

here are the parameters:
practice session, we run open practice for anyone up until we decide to start qualifiers. i really like that zround will not count a short lap if someone gets hung up under the bridge. what, if any means is there however to delete a fast lap in practice session?

qualifying heats, we determine main placement by fast lap. we do this in 2 open sessions of 10 minute qualifying. a driver can pick which session they want to use but cannot run in both. they get 10 minutes in a single session.

mains, these are sorted by qualifier fast laps as described above. nothing fancy here, just 8 minute timed race with everyone starting at the tone. no staggered starts in HFAY mains. we often do bump ups due to attendance numbers. i have no problem making this the standard for all mains if it has to be all or nothing. i'd rather do bumps for all than deal with more drivers than optimal in mains. we keep A main to 3 always. we prefer to keep others to 3 and use bumps as well but some times we do end up with 4 due to attendance numbers.

i have until July to get this setup and comfortable in managing. i'm hoping this won't take that long though.

A new version of Flip Side Racing software has been posted for download on http://www.flipsideracing.org/

There are a lot of changes with this release. Amongst them in the program now is translated to German. A huge thank you to Oliver for all the work he did in translating, testing and communicating with other groups on German forums.

Below is a list of the other changes this build brings.

New Features

The program has been translated to German, many thanks to Oliver for all of his work on this.

Added configuration option to set the maximum rank the program will announce during and after a race.

Maximum of 50 racers in a race now allowed.

Changes

During a free play or practice race you can double click the best lap time of a racer to reset their best time.

Minimum row spacing is now -16 to prevent excessive overlap of controls.

Refresh of the race screen slowed down, this will help with CPU usage on some systems.

No longer using custom double buffer for graphics in Windows, using the new built in method for that. This should help with CPU usage.

Various other adjustments to help lower CPU usage.

Added CoreSpeedway? i166 hardware type, this hardware type still needs some work for stability.

Lowered sensitivity of Giro-Z logic to minimize missed laps.

Preferences are stored in the database now.

Bug Fixes

Individual racer colors is now applied to the individual timers in a staggered start race.

Theme manager no longer deletes the theme name from the list in the main program if you alter the currently used theme.

Added logic to prevent triple clicking from deleting 2 racers during a free play or practice race.

Fixed bug that prevented rows from resizing during a race if the row height was automatically set to the lowest height.

Fixed bug that could prevent the report logo from being changed in some cases.

Changed filter mask on email from field that was preventing some people from entering more than 1 character.

Added logic to prevent the end of race routine from running multiple times causing multiple copies of a racer data to be stored and multiple emails sent.

Date: Saturday May 12, 2012
Time: 13:00 setup, 14:30-22:30 racing, 22:30-23:00 teardown and cleanup
Venue: Kew Library meeting room , Cnr Cotham Road & Civic Drive, Kew 3101

Classes: casual racing, most folks run mod 2WD or mod AWD

Layout will be the 2012 PNWC regionals layout.. (need to make sure we have enough space at this venue to see if we can have it here later this year)

Been pretty slack and busy of late so I haven't been posting here as often as I like..
Burncity MiniZ is still around.. and we are still running about 4 super track days and most if not all the HFAY events.
we've been mostly posting our events on facebook, so join the Burncity facebook group for all the latest event updates..

If we get organised enough, we hope to run the first PNWC regional in Australia later this year!

This will be the second of four super track events in 2012.. our first event of the year on Jan 7 went well, and the May event is a reschedule of our planned event in March.
Mark your calendars for the following dates:

Sat May 12 2012 - Kew Library
Sat Aug 4 2012 - Kew Library
Sat Oct 6 2012 - Kew Library

We also have Ashburton library booked for the June HFAY BTE on June 2nd. (big track event, but not as big as our super track days, just bigger than the usual HFAY track).

So I finally picked up the autoscale of my fav car of all time, the Honda NSX-R in white, and when I opened the package today I noticed something odd. The packaging was pretty loose looking and clearly opened. The case itself after the removal of the plastic sleeve looks like a complete mess! It has scratches like all over the front and top!! I have one more autoscale I bough a long time ago and it sorta looked like this but not as bad. Is this the quality you get from a new kyosho autoscale? I haven't even opened it because I don't know if I want to keep it. The body looks good until I see that the "fine hand polish" is not that good. I saw scuffs on the door and front bumper that look like they were scratched from something small and sharp. I'm not experienced with mini-z's in general, but are a lot of new autoscales like this? at $50 shipped from Hong Kong, I don't think this is a good deal at all.... Some info on what to expect from new autoscales would be nice, thanks!

Prices for the chargers seem about par for the course, but Memory Express does offer price matching + additional 25% of the difference against any price you can find from a local or online Canadian shop. The AAA batteries are on sale for quite a good price IMO.

I might finally pick up a C9000 and some more Imedion AAA. NCIX still hasn't got two clues to rub together...
