Track Building Tips

I'm pondering on building a track in my basement. I'm not much of a carpenter or builder, so I'm hoping someone will have a few suggestions to make this as painless as possible. I would like to have some elevation changes as opposed to the entire track being one flat surface. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Also, should I start with a solid base, like plywood, or is there a better (more compact) way? I would like to be able to move the thing, so if it doesn't weigh 300lbs that would be a plus! Maybe I'm dreaming. Your suggestions are appreciated!

Don't ask me. I don't have a wood track yet.

first off ozite is best but tarr paper looks like pavement hooks up good and is much cheaper than ozite

for bariers pvc pipe is good but i herd just plain masking tape will work when you hit it you will just spin out

if you are looking for a challenge try adding sections of linolium here and there its wicked hard to transfer from one surface to another
