What happened to the racecars?

Just frustrated that Kyosho seems to not be making new Autoscales in current models and racing Livery. I realize they just came out with a new Harrods F1, but that is a new paint job on an old mold. It seems I am out of touch with what the consumers want, but what I would love to see are all the fantastic cars such as the new 2016 Le Mans winning Ford GT, the 2017 winning Aston, the new Vette, Audi, and Mercedes. So many cool new racecars, and it seems we just get classic Celicas and Nissans and a Mazda hatchback. I mean no disrespect to these cars, but I'd love to see some new race car bodies. Kyosho used to make them, why not now?

first and foremost, economics. Licensing has only gotten more expensive. Autoscale batches are smaller, costs have risen accordingly. I pine for the mid 2000's in which we got a bevy of choices, lots of fresh lineup activity, etc. We find ourselves relegated to be thankful for the re-releases and repaints that are the mainstay with what few new autocales are intermixed. i doubt we will ever see the new ford GT simply due to the body shape which doesn't lend itself well to the chassis form. there remain any number of awesome potentials though...

Yeah, I figured, but one can dream. I also wondered about the Ford GT as well, those air channels probably would make it impossible. Since the bulk of the new bodies seem to be Japanese, I would gladly take the newer Nismo GT-3s. I've only been into the hobby for a couple years, so it seems I missed the glory days of autoscale.

Yes, especially Nissan. They had so many race livery's before and now: none.

I would mostly prefer the 2017 Super GT Nissan GT-R over any other right now, in race livery of course :D

Maybe also some DTM cars...

GAWD!!! Gimme that new 2017 Nismo GTR! Even as a white body!

Totally agree with OP - I love the actual race livery and have always longed for LeMans LMP 1 and 2 & more GT options. The "stock" shells on the track don't do it for me (except the 12C McLaren)

just saw on the K site they are re-releasing the long-tail McLaren in white. Hopefully a start of more to come.

a re-release is always welcome but would not take that as an indication that something new is forthcoming. they have been doing more re-releases which is good but still haven't touched many of the historically difficult to find autoscales. i suspect this is due to licensing.

If they won't give it to me, then I'll make my OWN!
