T-plate

This might sound like a stupid question for those in the know, but can you have the T-plate on your 02 upside, ie the wrong way? My 02 was pulling to one side when I was setting it up earlier, and it actually looked a little bent. I took if off, turned it upside down to see what difference it would make, assuming I'd have to replace it anyway, but this seems to have solved the problem, and when I put the power down, the car went off in a straight line.

Well, carbon fiber is not completely immune from memory effects, so when you take it off and put it back on you could have tweaked it back to perfect condition. Happens to a lot of Z's. ;)

To add to what Color0 said, when I screw on the t-plate, I screw all four of the screws down to the point that they are not very tight (still has play), then alternate between the screws as I tighten them up fully little by little. If you screw one screw down hard first, they is much more of a chance of creating tweak. You can do it the same way if you only change the motormount or chassis screws individually. You should never fully screw in any of the screws without the other mostly tightened...

Doh... I should have known to link him to your tutorial. It covers one more piece of vital T-plate tweak material; the chassis holes causing tweak (which I have encountered quite a bit).

EMU -- When you assume, you make an a** out of u and me.... :p

oopster -- In addition to MK2's tutorial, remember of course that you can always resort to shims. But the easiest (and first) way to tackle t-plate tweak is to just firmly twist the rear pod by hand for a couple seconds.

Well both cars went well today, in practice! When it came to doing the HFAY, they didn't want to co-operate whatsoever, and now for some reason, my steering is messed up on the F1, and I've no idea why or where.

Will have to do a thorough investigation of it before next month, but I think one of my 1/0th meets might clash, so might not get to race again till October / November.
