Bone Stock Supra + New Mounting System

Here's my latest brew- a new lego mounting system that nor adds weight when not in use nor interferes with Kyosho clip slots. It can be as simple or as elaborate as you want; can lead to virtually any point in the upper area of the body; can be used to mount ballasts or act as a reinforcement frame.

Supra itself will be further stripped of stock (beat up) paint to look new and I'll repaint the windows black/dark blue/green/etc and panel line this sucker.

Front clip was made out of styrene and Kyosho cement. Body-side mount point was glued using the same stuff and 2-3 pieces of .5mm styrene to lower the rear end enough to allow fancier body kits later on.

Pix are essentially a tutorial- I've taken them to clearly show how I did it.

Interesting concept, however, the added weight is too high. I dont know how well it will hold up in collisions either.

Not that well, but in terms of a fully functional, easy to make, show car mount its solid.

It's an Xmods body. that's a different way of doing this I guess. The nose clip I used a heat and bend method instead of gluing to parts together. This way a shot to the wall don't break the glue joint. For the sides I carved out some T bar stock to fit. I guess the legos you can always lift up the body.

How much clearance do you have with the rear motor mount? On mine I cut away the orignal body lock mount to allow the mount to move free.

I used the Camaro body for mine, also found the front of the battery boxes hit some parts under the body. A little more carving was done there. The Supra looks to clear that ok. I noticed you removed the rear hood screws?
