Thank you for the information.

Is the chassis restricted to Kyosho chassis, or can we use any chassis that is the same scale? (MRCG, P28, Pro-Z, Iwaver, home made) I see that the electronics are limited to Kyosho for the stock classes, but are the chassis limited as well? Can you use the Kyosho electronics on a different chassis?

I just want to get this cleared up before I try to decide what classes I would run.

Thank you,
Eugene

Thank you, I look forward to the Atomic Race series. I have been using the Race USA Motor for a little while, and like it better than last years motor.

I am very excited about this!

i need to learn so much to be ready for this, and if it is realtively close. maybe ill make a vacation with my wife for the weekend.

BTW, what class from previous experience do you guys feels is the "Most fun"
Would it be stock? since evenone has the same chassis and motors?

Tjay 2009.01.12 01:25 AM

interesting...

hrdrvr 2009.01.12 08:24 AM

I would love to be able to attend, but Ill have to wait and see when and where it is :D

I have a question though, why is it that with these manufacturers (PN does it too) a stock Kyosho car has to have weight added to it for stock class? My 2wd stock car weighs in at around 172g without any weight eliminated, and my AWD stock car weighs in around 181g, also without any weight dropping modifications. In fact Ive added weight to both if them in the form of alloy and bearings, and I still have to add almost 10g to be legal. Id just like to know what the thought process is behind this, so I can better understand the ruling.

ProfoxCG 2009.01.12 08:54 AM

ive never weighted my car.. but that it inteteresting.
I have a question on the ground of a handout motor, would a HO-motor run faster, slower or the same in an MR02 compared to an AWD keep in mind that the AWD has more things to rotate right? - my experience tells me it would be slower in the AWD.

I ask this wondering is it would the same spec motor handed for both stock classes

EMU 2009.01.12 12:46 PM

These rules are to make it a level playing field. I personally think min weigh in should be 175g for MR02, but I dont make the rules. On the larger, heavier bodies, they are very close to 180 (if not above it), with a stock chassis. The unpainted bodies seem to be considerably lighter. I would say that the average weight of a chassis is around 95g, then the body is about 35g, and batteries about 48g... So average is slightly under 180g.

I guess that the organizers of the races feel that everyone should have the same weight starting point. Whether they want to choose alloy parts to increase their weight, or if they want to choose other things that they can ballast their weight with. I dont mind adding weight, as you can really fine tune the car to the tire setup that you have... But it does take away the advantages of a lighter chassis. At the same time, a very light car will get bonced around much more easily in a collision.

If you dont like the weight rule, run on the open mod class, where there is no minimum weight ;)
