We have 7 of these transmitters (EX-2 and EX-6) and MHS cars in our club, and nobody has any issues with them.
I have had one EX-2 that only works in FHSS mode (from new), but all cars are working...

With the use of top damper you have to adjust the height of the post with shims to get it level. Both on PN and Kyosho chassis....

Best overall tires back then was GPM 20 - 25 shore.

Softer tires did not work as good, but the Kyosho 20 slicks were ok.

RCP is a soft surface. A hard tire digs more into the track than a soft tire that conforms more to the track surface :)
