Yea, I did the bearings first. The The X-Speed motor instructions reccomend that bearings be used with the motor.
Also, being adjustable, the ball-diff can make a difference.
Most of the 'veterans' here also swear by Turbo and X-Speed combo's for pure acceleration with top-end. There are some interesting comments on the other threads about motors and Turbo's. You can learn quite a bit.
As scsi says, alloy servo gears are a good choice as those standard servo gears are prone to breaking (Dont run it without a bodyshell)
Also, serious wipeouts can break them fragile stock servo gears too.
