Also, the MR02 only uses two servo pot wires, and the MR03 has 3. On an MR02, 1 of the wires spans two of the contacts on the pot. With an MR03, each contact gets its own wire.

You have to do this, if you don't, you can't put the cover on. Make sure the hole you cut clears the entire rectangle of the port or you will break the board by pushing too hard when you try to close the cover. Don't ask me how I know. If you want to use the port for anything (lights?), you need to make sure and get the correct disc damper that leaves the port clear.

Also, FYI, if you haven't already seen them, there are several threads about the Das Mikro ASF clone board, and putting those into MR02s. I have 2 cars like that, where I replaced the 27AM MR02 board with an MR03 ASF clone board.
