MR-03 Sports Series Board Swap

Has anyone upgraded the board in their Sports Series to an MR-02/03 ASF board?

Guys in our club switched to the Spektrum PN board. I don't think a mr02ex board would fit.

I would think an ASF board would be straight forward.

I fell out of the hobby shortly after that transition of 02 to 03. A buddy of mine has a sports kit and wants to upgrade the board. I have an MR-02 I'd be willing to give up but not sure if that's the right thing to do.

I'll just have him continue to look for new 03 boards.

Asf boards are available from japan for under $100. Just not going to find them domestically anymore unless some hobby shop has one.

They are currently in production according to the Kyosho rep and should be back in US inventories reasonably soon.

I would really have no faith in Kyosho if they stopped all ASF production. Could you picture how mad some would be if they just bought a KIY with a multi-hundred dollar ASF system on it?
