Front shock relocation

I've noticed that my front suspension was a little stiffer than the front. I thought a geometry change would fix that, and boy, it did! I drilled a hole in the front long shock mount supports, tapped it and I was good to go. The suspension is WAY softer than the stock setup. It flexes really easily now.

Some pics:

Also, as you can see, I need to do some touch up painting on the cage. Thats what I get for not using primer...

cam2- No, I can't fit a stock body over the roll cage. I think it looks better with no body on

TeaQue-I'll try to get some better pics tomorrow. As for the ball stud, Its still there, I only changed the upper mounting posistion, not the lower

Nice trick look. I'm going to check that out on mine, but not gonna drill yet...

I've got my own design for solving the flex issue if I can ever find the time to do it.

i was actually talking about the upper ball links. ( the pillow balls that screw to the TOP of the servo case)

it looks like you have some type of spacer or something.....can you elaborate?

i'm kinda bored and my last final was this morning so i think i'm gonna try this mod tonight

actually now that i've taken the shock off and positioned them to how yours are mounted....i don't see any significant gain

mine doesn't flex one bit easier.

i always though the front was stiffer than the rear cuz of the servo wires.

on the 3rd pic. is that scratch a tool mark or is that from the shocks?

The stratch must be from a tool, havent run it like this that much.

TeaQue- The upper ball spacer came with warn's kit, it stops it from binding. Its about 1/16in thick.
