94mm vs 98mm MA-010 (96mm too)

i did a little searching didnt see much but im wondering today what wheelbase people are running on their AWD. I'd also like to know if your racing it and what the winners are using. I've run it with both and it seems than any type of tweaks you already have at 98 are accentuated at 94mm. Haven't tried the 96mm setup but id be curious about that as well. Let me know what you guys think about AWD wheelbase and even the body you run or see others running.

ive used sc430, nissan GTR, enzo, nsx, murcielago(current setup, not used yet)

in last years worlds i believe the tQ and top three places were all running 96. i run 96 and it really is the best combo out there, i dont think anyone has had anything bad to say about it, its the best of both worlds.

Hi Jace,

I highly recommend checking out TJ's 2008 PNWC setup page:

http://fastpaceracing.com/content/tj...-awd-mod-setup

This setup is 98m and is crazy-good. Definitely worth trying.

Most people are going to tell you 96mm. I like 98mm.

I go back and forth between 96mm and 98mm. The longer wheelbase is a bit more stable, but the 96mm is a little more edgy and neutral.

I really like using 94mm... Always have. I'm current running a Corvette C5R - I used to run a 575GTC.

I've not tried 96mm but I would be interested in trying it as I've heard nothing but praise for it.

TQ, 1st and 3rd where running 96mm, 2nd was running 94mm Maybe if I din't run the stock car in the last Mod A main it could have been 1st and 2nd with 96mm

I would definitely say either 96mm or 94mm. I just can't conceive a fast 98mm AWD car at 99% of the tracks. Of course 98mm is more 'stable' but the car also looses a lot of aggressiveness and can't rotate properly.

If you haven't tried it yet I would give 96mm a chance. It's a really good compromise.

I used to run your exact setup actually from the reflex racing setup page. I later opted to the 98mm setup that C. Tabush used in 2008 on the RCX west coast challenge and found it to be very nice. I still use that setup for the most part. I'm not against trying another 94mm setup.

I use the 07 Xanavi Z on my awd at 94mm, I've never tried 96mm or 98mm on the awd so I'm not sure how they compare. I run on a pretty tight layout (a mini-96 to be exact) and it works perfectly for me.

You should have a look at the setup Cristian posted from the KOGP. Those were the exact same cars me and Jacob ran at the worlds. For a short track you might even try it in 94mm.

First of all, I mainly run stock (PN70t) and started running on 94 on an NSX (2004) body. I found it very nice. Then I started experimenting with 98 on an FXX body (and other 98 bodies) using the same stock motor and found it more stable, but not as responsive on turns on the same track.

I heard that 96 has the best of both worlds, so I'm running it now and liking it so far using the 2007-NSX body.

When I tried using a punchier motor (PN Speedy AWD), I tend to use 98 because of the extra speed and would like to have more stability. My skills are not up to par on either a 94 or 96.

I also have a Mini-96 setup at home and I run either 94 or 96. The longer wheelbase 98 on a Mini-96 is just lazy on turns.

Just my .02 cents

what bodies to use with the 96mm set-up?

If I got it right the Kyosho bodies are designed for (90mm) 94mm wheelbase or 98mm wheelbase.

So what bodies require the least modification of used with the 96mm set-up? Is the McLaren F1 a good alternative with stock motor?

thanks
