I'd DEFINANTLY do a pan car race, but 70T motor pan car......... we are already doing 70T series race which is great for everyone and i really enjoy BUT doesn't pan car just scream out SPEED???
Id love to do pan car BUT UNLIMITED, just image the lap times!!! Either way lets talk about it next race, once everyone is there before the qualifers we can all see how everyone feels about it, and if its a go we can have eddie order us a bunch of pan car bodies. Either way i have the fun RACING so regarless of if we do unlimited OR 70T id be down to race anything. I was kinda hopeing for a second class anyways!

70t Pan Car has faster lap times than you would think... usually .5s less than 70t touring car. The cars carry much more speed through the corners. Maintaining momentum is the key to 70t Pan Car... Lots of fun, and very close racing.
Open Pan car usually seperates the drivers a lot more than 70t Pan. Still very fun, but not as close battling.
70t Pan Car, the winner is usually determined by one or two mistakes in the run.

70t pan faster than 70t asc?
Eugene,
If you look at the PNWC at the recent RCX show it's the opposite. It's a good data point as Chad swept all 3 classes, 70t MR02, 70t Pan, Mod Pan.
70t MR02 - 61 laps, 9.244 fast lap
70t Pan - 59 laps, 9.277
Mod Pan - 63 laps, 8.655
My take is that the pan body is a lot wider and generally more sluggish on turns so it will be a tad slower.

I am just saying, my experience... we ran a Stock Fet motor class (Speedy 07/ATM stock limit), 015 70t class and a pan car 70t class for the last 2 point series. Out of the three, the 70t pan class consistantly had the most laps, and fastest laptimes. When setup right, the car is very easy to drive, and you can carry more speed through the corners and accelerate out faster than you would in a touring car with the same motor. I usually get about .5s less on the fast lap with Pan than my 015, and about .3s less than my Speedy 07 MR02. My 015 70t pulls similar laptimes to an MR02 with the 70t motor.
Our layouts were not the PNWC layout, so that will allways be a factor. Although, the PN layouts generally have a lot of corners that you carry speed at. Very few low speed corners. Our layouts had tighter corners for most of the track, and the corner speed of the pan cars were more important than motor. Layouts were not small, but not as large as the PNWC layouts.
Recently I have been running open Pan at a different track, and do enjoy it... but there are more errors, so the gaps between racers are much higher. I enjoy 70t pan because you can race alot closer with one another, and really battle it out.

Hi Guys,
Well, I have plenty experience on GTPs (Pan) & Lola type shells on 1/8 & 1/10 4WD Gas and some good experience on 1/10 electric too and these mentioned bodies are way faster than GTs and touring, any place any track, certainly Using same engines or motors.
On Mini-zs, it is the first time I am using a pan shell on my 4wd car, in about 3 years, and I am accomplishing my ever-fastest laps with it.
The only shell faster than a GTP on the mentioned groups above, is the Lola body and it is noticeable faster.
Cheers

No, I was just thinking it would be fun and i'm sure Eddie wouldnt mind, maybe we can have it on Saturday's, weekend racing is fun and we can start early. I have to agree with EMU on the 70 Turn, but i'm down for mod too, which ever we all agree on.
