Hi.
I love the functionality on this product. It is very fast and easy to swap tie rods, fix the car if the knuckle pops out of the tie rod etc. It is also completely flat, so no added tweak.
But!
The cups that holds the knuckles was worn out in only 10 - 15 hours of driving. It developed a play for roughly 1mm up/ down. I am wondering if more people has experienced this?
I've also had this issue. They were fine when they were new. I've actually had issues with them popping out of the lower arm. I have just been putting the stock covers back on so I don't have to worry about it popping our during a race.
I have used mine for over 20 hours of driving (narrow car), I just inspected the car, and there is no slop in the front end. I am also using the ATM upper tower, but stock kingpins and spring setup. I will install a wide set on one of my wide MR03's and see if it develops any slop.
As an option, you could cut down the stock cover, so you still have the fast tie rod parts on the rear, but have the stock front kingpin lower arms that are made out of a harder material.
The balls popped in with much less effort on the ATM lower arms than the stock lower arms, and had absolutely no binding, like the stock lower arms do. I needed to hone the stock lower arms out with the kingpin in a dremel for it to free up a little, otherwise it was very stiff. The chassis was a chassis set, and came stock with the wide setup.

It is definitely a good performance part by Atomic however, they don't last that long. The lower arm cracks (hair line cracks) real easy from a crash of by removing/installing the kingpin. Watch out for that.
I have the same issues as stated above with the ball popping out and the up and down play, the only difference is that I had this happen right out of the package--no track time, one side was fine while the other had the problems so I just put back on the stock plate. I'm using the Reflex Racing long king pins.
I havent tried Kyosho king pins, I'm using Reflex king pins with all of the Atomic front lower covers. I only ever have the issune with the one side. I have taken king pins from other cars that dont have this issue and they still have problems on the ones that are loose. I have 5 of the lower covers and 3 of them have this issue, all are on the right side of the car.

Exactly, same for me--my problem is on the right side also
Could it be the shims? I'm assuming you guys shimmed
it to hell to get ride height perfect...
Using RR kingpins I noticed that PN shims would
press against the cover during compression.
Actually any kingpins would have that problem lol.
K's shims are a little rounded and also tend to stick
to the knuckle if you use flourine or any other
grease so they won't cause as much problems. Alum
shims would stick on the bottom and press against the
cover during use possibly casuing that pop out?
I got around that by using atomic ride height washers
(AR47) which unfortunately aren't made anymore. I actually
bought two bags of these back when I started minizs and
they've lasted until now and are pretty useful for alot of
things; awd alum wheel spacers, awd shaft placement holders,
a arm ball spacer, etc. Running low now though...
If you guys could start producing them again that would be
great.
