The front suspension on my viper is way too stiff. I bought the spring kit from kyosho and even with the red springs it is still to stiff. has anyone tried the polished kingpins to free up the front end a little? I am looking at buying a set of those and also the steering bar toe in package. Other than that the car handles really well.
Try pushing down on your front end with the red springs installed. Does it compress or drop smoothly? If it doesnt check to be sure there is nothing catching any where. If the suspension doesnt travel smooth when you push it down there is no way that it will perform on the track.
somthing that i did that worked realy well, I put a drop of gun oil on the kingpin and it made it so somth for me that the red springs wear to soft and i had to move up to the green, also doing it with the stanles steal kingpines wored evean better.
when i was racing last saterday, i made an interesting observation, on a high speed turn the mini-z dips out onto the outside weel vs in on the inside well, after i saw this, i stifend my suspension(yellow springs) and i noteced an improvmint in turn handaling and control.
I mix my spring sets.On the track I race at I tend to make alot of high speed left turns. So I put the yellow stiff spring on the outside and I put the softer red on the inside. That seemed to help me out alot.
