clock is wrong?
Hello,
I have installed version 0.38 on Win XP and was playing around a littlebit.
If I start a f.e. 1min race, the race will last more then 2min, because the clock is running to slow. Everything else seems to work fine. I counted the Labs by Keyboard, and the reaction looks very fast...
Anybody else face the same problem??
thank you and best regards,
Martin

That is really strange, I have not heard of anyone encountering anything like that. The clock in the program is based on the computers clock. Even if the program were running slow you would see it skip time not run slow. Does your PC have problems with the clock running really slow or is pretty close to accurate? Can you check Task Manager while the race is running and see if your CPU is pegged at 100%?
What do you mean by a f.e. race?
Do the lap times look correct or are they about half of what they should have been?
So you are just using the keyboard for registering laps and do not have any lap counting hardware like the Core or Kyosho lap counter? If so on the General Config. screen make sure the hardware type is set to Keyboard and the COM ports are set to none.

Thanks for the additional information that helps me.
I have a test program for the timing function that I would like you to run. You can download it here:
Timer Test
Run that program and send me the info that it displays. You can just copy and paste to send it to me. The info it produces will hopefully give me a better idea of what is going on.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately it looks like the timer is fine in comparison to the system time so I have to look for some other culprit.
Is there anything odd about your Windows XP system that would be useful for me to know? For example is it a Virtual Machine (this can impact system clocks). Or are you trying to use another program that is sending key sequences to the Flip Side software (someone else tried this but it caused problems)?
I will continue to investigate and may have to come up with another test program to get me some diagnostic information.
Thanks for working with me to help solve this.

Hello,
onestly I don't really know what is going on in my Company Laptop. I just know, that it also runs Groupwise, and Vista may have been installed originally (Vista Sticker at the Keyboard)...

Thanks for the info, Company laptops have a lot of junk installed on them at times but I do not think that any of that stuff would cause this.
I am going to have to come up with a test app that does low level calls to the clock, skipping any of the libraries I use, to see if there is any differences between that and the the libraries.
Another thing that would be useful is if you sent me your FlipSideDB file. I could use it to try to replicate what you are running into. I will message you through the forum with my email address (I try to keep my spam down).
Thanks
