Question box stock mr-02 vs. box stock xmod evo

is the mr-02 out of the box faster than the xmod evo out of the box? also, if i upgrade to a faster engine for the mr-02, will it be faster than the xmod evo with a stage two?

Box stock there about the same but,on a track the Xmod would be dominated by the mr-02.If you installed an X-speed motor in the mr-02 it would be alot faster then a stage 2 motor in an evo.

Yeah, X-mods aren't really well constructed. They're too heavy and there's too much play in places for the power to get put down.

I did a comparison video (see my sig. Part two is the most significant to you).

Basically, although they're similar speed on the dyno, the xmods can't really put it on the track.

Then you have the radio problems. The xmods controller is a joke and when using a Kyosho transmitter in the same room as an xmod one you're just asking for trouble.

We were pretty heavy into xmods a few years back. But there just isn't any support for them these days. It's too bad too because a lot of kids would get an xmod at radio shack and then if they liked it they would eventual upgrade to a mini-z or 10th scale.
