Mr-01 help

Just got an mr01. I've had xmods before but always wanted a mini z so I got a used mr01 to start with. It needs a new motor mount and a controller though. Can I still buy those parts or are they impossible to find?

If you want a Kyosho radio just search ebay for Kyosho Perfex and find one that is 27mhz AM.

However just about any 27mhz AM radio will work with the MR-01

There should be a few options available for motor mounts. A quick google search should give you several results.

Chances are it's an RM type mount. They are out there but I think the rear axle is a bit too short for the newer style mounts. You may want to get a newer ball diff anyways.

What body do you have on the car?

There are usually many GPM leftovers on Ebay that may suit all your needs. Just look for big clunky aluminum rear mounts (mostly in blue anodized )... that was the style back then.

That is what my only MR01 is set up with, all blue anodized GPM alloy. I don't drive it, just collect dust with it.

It's a dodge viper body, and what is an RM mount?

I'm not sure if there are any clubs near me, how would I find out? Also if you find one of your old controllers I'd be happy to buy it off you.

quick response, wrong chassis but same motor layout terminology throughout the line. MR-01 only had RM and HM options if i recall correctly.

Where to find clubs...

http://mini-zracer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=19

Mods... Maybe we could sort the club threads by activity level, and whether or not they are closed or shut down?

So would the HM or the RM be better? How easy would it be to convert to MM?

Wheelbase on any vehicle is the length from front tire center to rear tire center. Offset is how far out the wheels go as measured from the rear of the outer rim to the first surface area of the inside mounting surface.

helped?

There is much to learn

In a nut shell-
Wheelbase or lengths of chassis are from 86mm, 90mm, 94mm, 98mm, 102mm. This measurement is from the center of the wheels front to back.

Width is Wide or Narrow.

Wheel offset is from "0" offset meaning the wheel sits very close to the chassis to +3 where the wheel sits far from the chassis.

A Dodge Viper is a narrow car and runs wheels that sit close to the chassis.
