Damper Plate Theory

Hey Everyone,

I've got an Atomic MM damper plate system installed. However, I'm looking for articles or an information source on what effect softer/harder springs have on the handling. Since it uses one above and one below, I really can't make out what effect having one hard and one soft lets say would do. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

PB

P.s. I'm basically looking for a tuning aid, so if my car does this, try doing this type of thing. Thanks in Advance.

I personally haven't read any type of reviews or tips on the damper plate systems. Alot of people track tune. Personally It's helped my cars go much faster around the track. It was the missing link. I've personally found very tight gripped turning with the stock or softest springs. It was recomended.I use soft springs with a soft h-plate. I'm happy with it.

You can try searching the forums for atomic damper plate tuning.

Quick tip: stiffer springs /more preload/more friction= less steering. Softer springs/less preload/less friction = more steering.

From Atomic:
Harder bottom spring gives fast steering response and on-power steering.
Softer top spring gives more off-power steering.

It's one of those things that changes from race to race. The stock Atomic springs are a good starting point.
