*** May AZGT, F1, ATM Schedule ***
Welcome to the second half of the season! Busy real life schedules gave us a month break between rounds, but we resume the battle this holiday weekend.
The AZGT returns to the Sprint format, ATM remains the same, and the F1 race will be 77 laps on DJ's tough looking Lightning Circuit. And now that we've all discovered the wild advantage of Intellect cells, I expect there'll be quite a battle for the top spots.
See you all there.

Wow.......I think it has been about six weeks or so for me with no mini races. Track looks cool......looks fun and very technical, do not think more power is what this track is asking for, but should make for some bigger crashes. See everyone Saturday. Bring you A' game!!!!!! LOL

Cool. Hope to see you there.
We've updated the Regs to permit any board (2.4, AD, etc) and any FET configuration. The catch is they must use that new PNWC 70 turn motor. 3004 and 3010 single stack (stock config) cars may use any motor. (The hope is this will even out any FET advantage).
So like OLPS, we're moving to a spec motor series to permit all the new hardware coming out.
You ought to bring your 1:10 sedan out to the new Speed Sports indoor carpet track. It's next to the end of Runway 7L by Deer Valley Airport. www.speedsportsusa.net
I'm there Friday nights for the road course layout, and Hood, Joe, Wes, and Jeff are often there. You'll want foam tires for racing, but drifting has gotten very popular. I race in Brushless and Stock class, and I've started drifting it occasionally. We run a Mini-Z class when there's enough of us. It's $5/class to race ($5 flat fee for members).

*** AZGT/ATM/F1, Week 4 Results ***
Now that the www.mini-az.com website is finally up and running again, I'm going to start just listing the results there. It's easier to control the formatting and I only have to do it once.
The results from Saturday are posted on the Results Page: http://www.mini-az.com/results.html
(Scroll down for the AZGT/ATM/F1 results)
We had a lot of close racing and photo finishes this time. Check out the finish on the ATM Stage III!
In the AZGT Sprint-A CW round DJ beat James by 0.037sec, and I only stayed out front by 0.763sec! In Sprint-B CW their gap was 0.311sec. In the Sprint-B CCW round Bill held off Hood by only 0.102sec.
Great day of competition. I just wish my AZGT and ATM cars had been competitive. I'll get 'em fixed up for the 14th.
Don't forget the OLPS Season V finale is this Saturday at DJ's. See ya all there.

*** June AZGT, F1, ATM Schedule ***
Week five brings us to the last AZGT Sprint round before the big 1 hour Le Mans finale. The introduction of the mixed PCB/motor rule and everyone running on the new cells made for some very close racing.
We'll be testing out a new location suggested by Wes, the Harris Trust Bank of Arizona community room. It's indoor and air conditioned which should be great as we transition into the 100deg+ days. The space should accommodate the PN World Cup layout which we'll be racing on. The wide track with sweeping corners will make for fast laps and great F1 racing.
Since we're using a different facility we need to follow the schedule more closely to be sure we get all the racing in before we have to pack it up. So please be sure your batteries and cars are ready.

See you all there.

Correction..
Wes bought one for himself and one for patty.. It looks like I might have enough parts to let Joe field a F1 also..
That makes 8..

Excellent! That's what I want to see. Patty, Wes, and I are running them on the big lanes at Speed Sports as well. You can really open up the Stock-R there.
But are you going to field a Mod Class car for the AZGT Open next season?
(I think I'll just Marshal that one, four cars is costly enough... Or maybe I'll just run my AZGT car with a Stock-R...).

Man that's way up there. I would like to show up now that i got all situated in my new home, but now i have a garage sale happening this Saturday. Oh well, one day i will get out to the track.
Did digitalmafia say if he was planning to come back or if he wants to sell off his stuff? I want his Ford Focus rallye car if he wants to sell.
Hood, i've been seriously itching to look at that TC3 of yours and i've been thinkin bout gettin back into rock crawling with sumtin scale looking like the new Tamiya FJ or maybe the AX10 or HPI wheelie king with the crawler conversion kit.

Come on out to Speed Sports Friday or Saturday night and talk to Jeff. He'll get you fixed up with all kinds of rock crawling gear. Plenty of used stuff to sell and trade there too. I don't know if DM will be coming out, or if he even still has any Z's.
I'm seeing about holding a Mini-AZ Fun-Run afternoon at Speed Sports on the 21st. Arrangements still to be made so that's tentative at the moment.
