IW-04 Shock Mount - Post Pics

Can those who have had IW-04 shock mount breakage post pics, and explain what you were doing when it happened? We're working on getting replacements for you!

If you run into something fullspeed with the front of the 04 then the mount will snap off at the point where the stabilizer screws in

if the iw-04 is as close a copy of the mzm as everyone says it is, there is no reason why they shouldn't. it might intnerfere with mounting the stock body though

Sure, we'll of course continue to stock those - what I'm talking about here is free replacements for customers who have had problems.

Get some alloy plate from your LHS.

1. Cut a piece the length of the bridge the tabs are on and wide enough to replace the tabs on the bridge. That will be the bottom piece you need to drill 2 holes for the pillow balls and 2 holes to mount it to the bridge.

2. Drill 2 holes in the bridge.

3. Cut another piece of alloy plate for the top and drill to holes in it.

4. Put the top and bottom aluminum pieces in place and use some small bolts and nuts from the LHS to attach the reinforcing plates and new tabs to the bridge.

5. Screw in the pillow balls.

Now you'll have stronger shock mounts for pennies and you'll marvel at your ingenuity!
