I haven't looked at the electronics of the buggy but I'm sure that they are "ASF" based so you should be able to switch in a VE board to support the VE motors though I can't imagine why. The loss of torque and drag brake in exchange for unusable RPM seems counter productive for a buggy. But that's just my opinion.

I couldn't agree more!! Jato, I linked you to a couple motors that will give you much better performance in your other thread.

i've not seen much example of unusable RPM in a buggy yet but we don't seem them run all the time either. i really not sure what use any of the brushless motors above 9k are either given 9k is about as fast as you can get around a track with, even a large track. usable speed is relative though and entirely dependent on usage. i would love to drop in a 9k motor and tool around the streets.
No that makes sense at 200$, if you buy a MR-03 VE from a japan hobby shop it is like 120$ US plus maybe 10-15$ for shipping. The JPY is very low so now is the time to buy your Mini-Z goodies from Japan if you are on a budget. I think futaba pro shop has pretty much everything Mini-Z and if you email them they should ship overseas.
