Question The Perfect Antenna

... I'm in search of the perfect internal, and external antennas.

When designing one, the goal is maximum surface area, while maintaining the same length as the original, and yet not overlapping the winds, right?

The length of the original has likely been calculated through the frequency to be the most effective.... (i remember reading that length has everything to do with it....)

Can anyone shed some light?

I may be mistaken but I was also told the same thing regarding the antenna length, HOWEVER.... I was also told that this only applies to the transmitter antenna, not the receiver.

On a lighter note, a GREAT antenna solution I have found is a fishing line called styrene. IT is standard 7 strand metal fishing line however it has a clear protectant coating so it acts as an insulated antenna. I'll take some pics and upload them tomorrow

Well, all I usually do is to use 26 gauge copper wire (insulated) of the same length as the original antena, wound on a peice of lexan. So far, I have no glitching problems with it.

That looks dangerous. Is the antenna insulated in some way?

You think thats dangerous my motor connector wires arent insulated. . And no problems yet, Im gonna fix that tho, later, maybe I should actually sotter them on. . And not just connect them so they hold.
