Attached is a photo of the slot car truck body that I plan to mount on an MR-02mm chasis using the body mounts from the BMW Autoscale. There are several photos of completed MR-02 trucks in Gallery TNB that a couple of locals own. I should have photos of "my" finished project soon.
FYI: just knew about a e-shop here (Spain, the trucks are made here) that will ship to USA: http://w.w.w..d.i.b.e.r..c.o.m (remove one dot each time inter-letters). It has an english version, hope it helps
My son "needs" a slot car, so I'm getting one and will swap the M8 runner body+slot chassis to him, and I'll keep the truck, add that to the wife excuses list
I visited the website and picked one truck at random. It was 50,86E + 20,80E shipping totalling 71.66E, which with the current exchange rate is just under $86.00. I can go back and search the various trucks for different prices, but the one I purchased was $59.99 + tax, including the already installed light kit.
There are a few photos of the truck in Gallery TNB (along with other new photos of the MR-02rml-F50 and "lexan" MR-02mm). The truck handles much better than I anticipated. Fantastic actually. It may look a little strange since I didn't extend the length past the "Enzo" setting, but I think that may be why it handles so well, along with the weight being over the front wheel. The wire sticking out the top is for the transponder; however, I made an adapter that plugs into it so the headlights can be used. The light kit also has a capacitor so the throttle doesn't have to be held open (as one of the photo show).
I used the side body mounts from a spare BMW AutoScale body and mounted the body on an MR-02mm chassis. I also used a spare Enzo front body mount and glued it to the slot car chassis piece I modified. One of the other locals used an NSX front body mount and the MR-02rm chassis--this allowed him to extend the wheel setting without having to enlarge the front wheels wells like I did--I probably could have too but I didn't even think about it at the time since my original intent was to make if fit an "Enzo" setting. Mine also seems to handle better since I can run a 7t on the local 4L while two others I know are running the 6t. The other local also used JB Weld to create a slot for the front body mount. In this manner, he can remove the slot car body like a regular body, but I have to remove the two screws--I may change my set up later but using part of the slot car chassis may help support the body better. And though the front end on mine appears low and the wheel base a little short, it just runs so well that I don't really want to mess with it.
