Wink GPM vs AVM Alloy Wheels for Monster, Comparison.

Just a quick comparison between the GPM 4 Spoke Alloys http://mini-zracer.com/shop/product.php?pid=1035 vs the AVM F-Spoke Alloys http://mini-zracer.com/shop/product.php?pid=1022 for the Monster.

The GPM 4 Spoke wheels weigh 12.5 grams each, the AVM’s which are five spoke weigh 11.7 grams, that compares to 4.5 grams each for the stock wheels. The detail on the AVM’s is awesome, as usual.

I recently coupled the AVM’s with the GPM (30 degree) Rubber Rain Groove Tires http://mini-zracer.com/shop/product.php?pid=1032 on my Monster Hummer and I really like the results. The Rain Groove Tires have excellent traction on a variety of surfaces, very cool! My back up set is now the GPM 4 Spoke’s coupled with the GPM (40 Degree) Rubber Radial Tires http://mini-zracer.com/shop/product.php?pid=1031.

In my opinion, the Rain Groove Tires have better grip overall.

Wow, those are some nice looking wheels. I have been wondering what they actually looked like, but they are a bit pricey.

I will have to agree with ya on the rain groove tires. I also found them to have the best grip of any tire out there right now. (I know I owe you that review arch!). It is very hard to not flip the truck when turning at any kind of speed with those tires.

Any reason why the shop says the AVMs cost 68$?

I've been looking for new wheels. Stockers suck... Chip and break so easily...

As far as tires go, you guys are small people. I picked up some GPM Dirt Trail Tires. 5$ for Foam and Tire, 2 in a pack. They are about 2cm overall larger than the stock. The Mini-T tires fit fine, and are much bigger. I flip alot considering how sticky the rubber is.

I agree with BC. Pics would be nice and location/website where you purchased them.

Thanks,

I assume you are talking to USATorque55? I was trying to start a dialogue about alloy wheels and tires designed specifically for the monster.

Its a little late here, and I'm tired, so pics will have to wait til' tomorrow...

There typical MIni-T wheels, my LHS ordered me some awhile ago, and they fit well.

There really big and poofy. I have no trouble in grass... Plus even in wet conditions they do fine.I took them in a few wet dirt spots, and they held there ground.

More tomorrow

EDIT- Oh bloody... just google GPM Dirt Trail Mini-T... you'll see. I forgot GPMs site was blocked...

Sorry MZR

No problem; FYI GPM's site is http://www.gpmracing.com.hk - the site you linked to has nothing to do w/ GPM, they just stole the domain name.

All - let us know if you'd like us to stock these tires and wheels!

That's like holding a loli-pop in front of a 5 year old and asking "Do you want it?".

Shweet USAtorque!!! What kind of trouble did you have mounting them, if any?

Hammer, from my experiences with AVM and GPM rims on micros they both get damaged by the same means except your not shooting yourself when the GPMs do. But they do have 1st place in the beauty contest.

Good Luck!

I had to trim the Battery holders a bit, and at certain suspension heights it will lock the steering if gets stuck.

Not something very hard to fix or overcome...

They fit well on the stockers... But your body will need some Dremel work too.

The AVM’s are pretty much for show, I certainly will not be thrashing them, especially at that price. The GPM’s will definitely get the extreme use! The AVM’s just look so good when I have the Hummer sitting here at the office.

Mini-Z, count me in on a set of tires. Very cool USATorque55.

Just so you guys know I bought USA's truck and by just extending the front wheelbase setting on the truck these wheels now work flawlessly.
