inaugual CP cup race

OK, one in the books and I did not take any photos. There were many cameras there though so I expect some to be popping up soon. Congratulation to Jamie and Phil for their one, two finish. Yours truley came in 3rd my .01 seconds behind Phil. Look out, I'll get you next time. I was leading until a little mishap in the 2nd turn last lap . Oh well, that is what this kind of raceing is all about. At least I did walk away with the fastest lap time of the night. (and I think a new track record! 3.16 sec!! ) We have approx 14 racers tonight. Hope this kind of turnout keeps up. Congratulations again and Thank you Eric for coming up with this and hosting it. Maybe next week we can be on the live cam!!

Actually, number 3 isn't taken yet at the shop. I think it's because everyone knows Eric would want it. the track was very diverse. an I had no problem keeping track of my 43 car! I cannot wait till Eric gets the video up and running!

That would be great to get some new blood to spill on the track! I mean new racers. Last nights turnout was awsome. I have never seen (except the Kyosho Mini Z Cup) more people for a weekly series there. Eric designed these too well though. Not one knuckle or steering plate broke last night. Only thing they sold was tires, batteries and soda! Actually, I don't think anyone broke last night!

oh where to start!!! 35 on the front and 23 on the back. I have a rear suspension mod that I will try to photograph and post. BUT the two screws that hold the motor pod to the suspension bars are replaced with F1 or MR02 king pins. You need to drill out the motor pod so that the pins go through. Then from the top of the chassis, I have medium (green) MR01 springs and the spacer for the MR02 front end to compress the springs. I also have a GPM MR01 damper mounted to help stableize the back end. I cut off the two little knobs on the motor mount that go through the suspension bars also. This may sound confusing but the photos will help. Also we can only run the GP CP cup (ones for the mini z Cup) batteries and they also have newer green batteries with the CP logo on them that are legal. This way no one can use "hot" batteries. I really like how hooked up this car is ont he track. Also have a Xspeed with a 8 tooth pinonin it. I tried the 7 tooth but is wouldn't keep up. Oh yea, I have a soft suspension bar on the right and the Med one on the left of the car also. Not using the ones that came with the kit.

Have you tried staggering the springs and tires on that track yet? After all, it is banked and round.

When full-size and 1/4 scale RC cars for that matter run on an oval banks the set-up is usually staggered. The tires are a different outside diameter size and the suspension is set up differently since the road surface is not flat. In a Mini-Z set up, that could consist of using slightly different compound tires (left and right as well as front and rear), different suspension springs, and different shock settings.

That black No. 3 looks nice. I was surprised not to see it on the cake though. It must have been so fast, it didn't want to get eaten.
