does this dischargers auto diconnect at a per cell basis as each indiviual cell gets to .7v? or does it auto disconnects all four when one gets to .7volt?
drains them to .7volt...you go lower than that there is risk in ruinning the battery....i know it happens to me all the time with the rc mart one ive been using...(sometimes i forget and leave them in)...anyway Philip wrote me and said yes they are indiviually discharged and individual shut down...
ya the rc mart one...btw, i received the new discharger and its nicer than i thought it would be....also, box is a good travel case for it...i hate getting my stuff scratched...hence why i travel with everything in the original box...i.e. ice charger...etc....
He has the charging tray, not the discharger. He should have the discharger next week, which I will pick up from him (if he has enough, if there are none left when I get there, I will just order one I guess).
Can someone enlighten me what the benefits of a discharge tray is? I've been running IC3s, drive till my car gets really slow, swap batteries and recharge. Is it just good for the overall health of the batteries? Do certain types of batteries respond better with a discharge tray?
the benefit is to equlize the batteries , when you discharge the cells by them selfs , they pull the battery down to point . lets say 0.8 . then all the cells are down to 0.8 . then when you charge them they all start charging at basically the same rate . this makes them stronger as a hole . this is why in 10th scale racing they cycle the batteries two or three times . this helps them get even closer to equal . these dischargers discharge each cell by them self . this is why discharging in your car at a period of time is not the same . the cells do not have something saying to stop charging at this point .. they start making up there own mind . so you have to put the smack down . and say get in order .(BY USING THE DISCHARGER) there are other benefits but this is the easyest way to explain. hope this helps dude ......jb
