MR-03 EVO I.C.S. App Compatibility
According to Kyosho, the I.C.S Manager for MR-03EVO available now.
Ofcourse, this point you to ICS PC Adapter HS.
I have not kept up with the ICS apps as I've since misplaced my bluetooth adapter. Do any of the current app vendors support the EVO? THe most important function for me is the ability to switch between brushed/brushless however need ICS app to do so and hoping to avoid the PC adapter. Who keeps a PC around to make changes at the track

So I got my evo and have also used the USB ICS evo program on the PC. I haven't seen the app version yet.
One issue I have had is with reverse delay. On initial setup/pairing (I tried pairing it many times) I had no reverse, so I hooked it up to the ICS program to see if I could make it work. After running today at Remnant I came home and hooked it up again. I had to set my reverse delay to 2 and the neutral range to wide to get it to work. The evo ics explains that lower the number the less reverse delay, so not sure why 1 setting didn't work. Kris compared it to the MR02 reverse delay issues when we were messing with it at the track.
I have emailed Kyosho to see if there are any fixes or if anyone else is having similar issues, but no response yet besides that they were going to reach out to Japan. So not sure if this is an isolated issue with my evo or not still waiting on hear something back.
Sounds like a YouTube video might be coming soon...

I have always set my reverse delay to 2 on my cars, and neutral range to wide. I have a couple brushed MR03 boards, and a VE board that had issues engaging reverse until I did.
It could be the center of the neutral calibration is not exactly where the center on the radio is, and therefore it has an issue with engaging the reverse. Sometimes its just a throttle trim setting if you are using an old memory model, or having brake low but throttle high... or throttle low and brake high. There are a number of things that could cause weird results.
I would recommend clearing the model memory on the radio, and pairing the car again, possibly resetting the car with the setting fully centered, then dial in the adjustments on the radio as you see fit and see if there are still reverse issues..

I have the same problem on reverse. When Reverse timer is set to 1, the VE EVO car cannot run reverse. But if reverse timer is set to 2, the car reverse normal.
Another problem with gyro connected is the car will cog when turning left or right. The steps as below.
1. stay the car on ground without throttle
2. steer front wheel to left or right
3. give throttle
4. the car will cog
If I disconnect the gyro, there will be no such problem.

Now that I have seen the EVO on the track a bit, it seems that a few of them have a common issue where the car almost locks the brakes or engages reverse when off throttle and steering in a corner. I wonder if there is a setting in the ICS that can be adjusted to remedy this issue. I will try to reach out to Kyosho and see what they have to say about this occurance, as there are three people with an EVO at the track that cannot drive the car due to this. The one EVO that I have seen without this issue is FAST!!!

Anyone else notice that reverse is tricky to engage in brushless mode? My brushed EVO car works fine but brushless seems to want the ST to be neutral position as well as TH before engaging reverse.

This is similar in the VE boards as well. I find you need to keep the ST straight when engaging, not really cogging just very low reverse throttle output. It almost seems like a safety feature, but not sure why it would be there.

I now have two PN chassis cars retrofitted with EVO electronics. One car seems fine with the throttle neutral range set to "Mid".
The 2nd car with the same same "Mid" setting would occasionally brake at the end of a long straight/sweeper entering a turn. Changing the ICS neutral range to "Wide" appears to have fixed this.
I had already previously adjusted throttle trim/sub trim to get it as centered as possible, so I think the neutral center was already pretty close.
It's hard to discern if the braking is happening due to very minute reverse trigger movements. I have my trigger fit really right around my finger, so it's very possible that coming off full throttle there's just a touch of trigger movement backwards which is causing brake application.
I'm guessing that the EVO throttle neutral range is really small compared to older boards. When set to "Narrow" neither of the cars will reverse reliably. All of my previous cars (VE Pro electronics) had the neutral set to "Narrow" without issues.

I think you found the issue. When I let off the throttle I take my finger off of the trigger completely.

Will the Fire HD 8 run the Kyosho ICS software? Assuming it has a USB port.

I've been using a 3rd gen Kindle Fire HD just fine. It runs an older version of the Fire OS, but it should work on yours.
I use a Banggood bluetooth adapter to connect via ICS port. I did need to install the apps via APK files, as the fix/workaround for my Kindle to get on the Google Play was too arduous.

No, bluetooth does not work with EVO yet. Thus my inquiry about cheap Fire HD tablet working with the Kyosho ICS software. Would need a micro-b adapter for the USB port as well.

That was the impression that I had. I thought maybe that they figured out how to get it to work...
I am under the impression that it needs to be a windows based PC.
