If you are in NYC Majs rc in hackensack NJ isn't too far. We race every friday night from about 7-12 pm but usually most people are there for practice before the races start and the shop is always open except sundays from 12 am to 7pm. We race on carpet with foam tires and have a couple of classes. An all out mod class and a slower more basic class for beginners. Everyone at the track is helpful and there is a shop with that has all the things to get you running. Here is link to our weekly videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/Nnumbberrone/videos
From the Holland Tunnel the track is about 25 min and from the GW it is about 17-25 depending on what time it is and the traffic, during rush hour I would say it could be a while. All of the mini z tracks in NYC are closed, but mini z is still strong at Majs.
Hey, I've been hanging at Maj's the past few weeks practicing. Haven't showed up for race night yet, still getting the hang of it. Just reaching out to see if anyone in the city would want to meet up.
oh cool. Wasn't sure so I thought what the heck might as well spread the word just in case. But if you are looking for the guys who used to run mini z in NYC i would check out rctech as most of them went on to 10th scale and since the closest onroad racing is either in PA or upstate right now you might get a few responses.
I'm on Long Island it's 1 hr 10 min. for me to get to MAJ's with no traffic which we all know is never the case which means i'll never get out there...
