Do you all think that this is something we will do again? I was wondering if I should get a cup style trophy that the winners can hold onto until the next race is held?

Looking for a driver or couple drivers to team up with for this event. I would really like to participate, but the other two drivers of our group of compatible skill level can't make it.
In addition to covering my travel up from Florida, I can help out with race expenses (tires, batteries, etc.)
We are a new group, and are not participating in HFAY yet. When we run HFAY tracks, I consistently compare in the top third or top quarter of the posted results from past seasons. In addition to past mini-Z experience, I also have experience in other scales.
If someone is looking for another driver/teammate, PM me.

I love endurance racing, probably more than I do sprint racing. I would definitely be down to do it again. The opportunities have just not really been there to do it often.
A cup style trophy is a good idea. Would it just be team name or would each racer on the team have their name etched into history on the trophy plaques? I loved the Carolina cup trophy.

Yes, I believe we should do this again. I’ve designed the even posters for continuity vs. one off’s just for this reason. They all start with East Coast Mini-Z and will switch between challenge, endurance and whatever else we come up with in the future. The formatting also is not location fixed so that the same style can be used for other East Coast locations that decide to participate. I tried to come up with a formula that is adaptable and yet consistent with a sense of identity. The posters make for easy advertising that can be quickly shared across multiple media streams.
To get back to the trophy, a cup style trophy matches up with the overall concept were shooting for, I like the idea.

What is the closest airport to fly into? And how far away is it?

Practiced today for the race tomorrow. Great to meet the local guys. Nice and very helpful.
Glad I made the trip regardless of the result tomorrow!

Any info on the event? My apologies for being absent but I still want to know how it all shook out.

Hi Mike, it all went well. We had four teams. Two of the teams were our local guys and the other two teams were a mix of locals and out of towners. The winning team was Tommy, Shawn, Saint, and myself. Second was Eugene, Shafeqk (spelling?), and Kris. Third team was Ray, a guy from Florida named Scott, and another local named Mike. The fourth team was a lot of the locals. That was the finishing order also.
Ray and Eugene's teams had a close race until about the 4 hour mark when a loose screw knocked them down to third and they were not able to recover from so many lost laps on the repair.
I think everyone had a great time. Plenty of food was brought by the racers for everyone to share. I am sure we will do it again.

It was a great race, and actually pretty close at the end...
I'm still exhausted from the racing... much more demanding thati I thought it would be. We had an issue with the diff midway through, but misdiagnosed it as tires falling off. Tire swap didn't help.
Our car drove into the corner really well, with little scrub in speed. But needed to be treated very careful off the corner.
My team and rays team was so close on pace, it seemed the position would change every other pit stop until they had the motor screw issue.

Sounds great. I wish I could have made it but it wasn't to be this time. Though sprint racing is a gas there is nothing like endurance racing. The extended run times make things that never happen during an 8 minute race regularly occur which really turns it into more of a game of preparation than speed.
