Thumbs up Rain!! For once its a good thing

I know it may not seem much to those stuck in a bad winter, but we've finally had some decent rain down here in Australia. Some places haven't had a single drop of rain in over TWO years, this has been the worst drought on record. my state NSW, was 100% drought affected. so to all the farmers out there dancing in the rain. make some mud pies for me. (though seriously we' still are needing a whole lot more rain, so many have lost or sold everything they owned to keep their farms and livestock alive)

I even liked working in the rain today. it has been months and in sydney that is rare.

Likewise here in Melbourne...it's actually been raining for most of the day, and I can't remember the last time it did that. Hopefully we get some good rainfall at the catchment areas so we don't have to continue with water restrictions.

we actually are fearing flooding here. after 15 inches of snow, we are supposed to get 2 inches of rain in the next 2 days. it really makes a mess in the city. although it is fun to watch poor saps get a slushy shower from a passing car!

sorry to hear about the hardships down under. we have our own as well, it's called goerge bush. sorry, i couldn't resist a little political satire.

We understand completely as George Bush's lapdog is none other than John Howard (Australian PM).
Where ever George goes he follows.

off topic

that bumbling idoit (g.b.) is going to get us into a s@*&% load of trouble. if anyone remember before 9/11, he was roundly criticized in europe for not knowing basic geography.

don't get me wrong, i fully support the armed forces as some of my best friends in them, i just don't want them going off to war because g.b. has a heart on for s.h. as a citizen of the u.s., i offer my apologies for what we might get you into as well.

Lapdogs

Tony Blair has been labeled as the U.S.'s foreign affaris minister
In a wierd way I kind of agree with Bush's thinking
His fear is that Saddam provides some nutcracker with a few tons of chemicals or plutonium and buys him a ticket to the U.S.
I think it could be resolved by sanctions or pure isolation.
War should be a last resort.

Here's some funnies shedding some humourt
