What is as small as a Pico-Z, but with 4 channels and cost less than $160. Answer: The Walkera 5#6. The size and price caught my attention. Got one off ebay this week. The quality is very good. I was expecting Pico-Z quality, but the quality surprised me. It has ball bearings, the servos are very smooth with no glitch, and the transmitter gimbles also moves very smoothly and with precision. It needs practice to fly. I am still just touch and go on the ground to try to get a feel for it. Way more fun than Pico-Z.
From what I have read, that is a pretty good helicopter for its size. I have the Blade CX2. It is very high quality and very stable. If you are looking to get another one, there is a place in the LA area that has them cheap.
Let me know where the place in LA is. I like to know if they have parts too.
Finally got the courage to lift off after getting comfortable with the controls. Once in the air, it is pretty stable, so I have not broken a blade yet. This is my first real helicopter too. I have been playing with it last 3 days. Is hard to put it down. Way more fun that Pico-Z. Unlike the Pico, you could actually go forward faster than I care to try and hover with precision. The receiver has a heading gyro in it, so that takes a lot of the work out of flying the helicopter. Having mini-z experiance helps because you are use to the small size.

The place in LA is Banna Hobby. This is my second helicopter. They are very addictive. I normally fly with 3 or 4 other people, which makes it really more interesting.
Hehe, I've had my Walkera 5#5 for almost a year now, my uncle brought it over from HK for cheap. It flies much better than my blade CX, more stable, more precise, and more agile. Here's a video I took a while back with a couple friends: http://youtube.com/watch?v=AvsdytTcPIY
