LET's Go Racing! New Store

I am happy to announce that I will be opening a new store in the Myrtle Beach Mall. We will focus on Mini-Z and other small scale cars and racing. We will have multiple track layouts for different types of racing, and will be a full service shop, offering paint, build, and tune services. There will be a place for rental cars and off-road cars (LOSI and MB010), as well as a full time tuning/practice track for the serious Mini-Z racers. I hope to host many events! The first one will be November 5th, and we already have a thread for it in the event section of MZR.

Here are some pictures of the space we ill be filling

These are overview pictures from across the store of the "proposed" area designations

Beginner/Off-road track area.

Mini-Z/Main track area.

Pit area.

Crawler and/or small scale area.

I will have more details as we get things done, and get closer to a firm opening date. I hope to see you very soon, racing on our RCP!!!

Guilty as charged 100% no joke, when I just got this reply notification, I was on GSR searching out the thread where I previously mentioned this.

We put a layout down today to see how it would fill the space. It looks freakin awesome!! I can't wait to get some folks in there racing!

Thanks guys! The idea is to have the coolest track around Keep in mind too, this is the first layout I've made for this location. As I get used to the space and flexibility, they will only get better

BTW, where are you twinkie?

Can I make a sugestion? Is there a way to make the level changes smoother? I'm thinking about the car going up in the two up sections in the left of the track, and wondering if they wont loose the grip, because the uphill sections finishes in a 180º curve. Smoothering the level changes can lead you to have more in and out curve speed.

We had problems like that... can you post a video of a Z doing the track?

Doug, Your track looks awesome! I really like the banked curve at the end of the straight. We used to run on carpet, and some days I really miss it. I am one to change layouts a lot, so I like the flexibility of RCP. I also like running on the most popular surface for most of the races I attend, so we made the switch and have never looked back. One thing I didn't like was the conformity of most of the RCP layouts we see at almost every club, and the fact you can't change the lane width (very easily). Because of the lane width thing, and the limited space in our old track room, I decided to make some elevations to make more space. I wanted to keep the chance to change the layout as often as possible, so I made modular elevation changes. I've run them in a lot of different configurations, and tested them to the fullest! The new ones I made are fully modular, but have a smoother transition, to keep the cars planted through all the corners. Even though some of them look kind of steep, they are curved at the top and bottom and the cars never leave the track surface. I will take some more detailed shots of the actual "transitions" if you are interested.

I also don't want to stray away from the new store, and layouts that are actually in it, so I will just post some links as well These are some of the layouts that I made in our old space with similar elevations to what I am using now.

Here are a couple of videos, also from the club track. Ill get some footage of this one as soon as we have a race
