New Tire Find

Just a couple of pics of a new tire find. They are a perfect fit using the racer rims. These tires are in between the swamper and the tracker. Just what I was looking for....I can post more if anyone wants.

Here is a comparison...THe swamper, the "new Tire", and the tracker

Another shot standing up.

The kit comes with two wide and two narrow tires...I have the narrow ones installed in the pictures above. You would have to buy 2 kits to get 4 of each tire but for under six bucks you cant beat it.

OK I have messed around enough...The kit came from wal-mart for around 6 bucks. Its a polaris "Got Mud" 1/18 die cast ATV. the tires are medium hard/soft and are hollow.

Hmmm. What does medium hard/soft mean...exactly?

Are they grippy at all? And I just came home from Wallyworld...coulda looked.

Nice find.

ER...do they come with skinny fronts and fatter rears? So you'd have to buy two kits to get both rears? Or both fronts? Dunno which you're running?

they are not like the RCM Super U. outside in dirt or mud or pavement they will be great. Inside on hard wood they are pretty slick.

You will have to buy 2 kits to get 4 skinny tires...and thats what i am running.

That's an interesting tread! I was thinking about trying those out but didn't think they would fit. Not that I need any more tires. I've got my own original design I'm still working on as well as some Chevron treads I'm going to be molding...

But those ATV tires would be great for some extreme crawling perhaps. Maybe they could be cast in a softer compound for more grip on different surfaces. That would entail making a mold and then casting the tire. I know how to do it.

Was wondering how long it would take for someone to try those.......I have been looking at them for about six months.....just never got around to picking them up

SHOPPING HINT:
I always carry a spare OL rim in my pocket to test fit/size wheels and tires I might find.....I also hava a slip of paper in my wallet with the various suspension lengths so that I can test bodies as well

Maybe I take this a bit too serious.....

No, I do't think you take it too serious. You are just super prepared

DBR, I've been meaning to be as prepared as that. I see bodies and/or tires that look sweet and look like they might fit the OL...but it's all guesswork. I'm going to write down the necessary info so I can be sure from now on!

Then my wife showes up asking if I'm ready.

They also had the motorworks pit wagon kits and I had to pick up a couple kits..

Here's another set of ATV tires that fit (slightly taller than Swampers, but nice and narrow)
