hey spoon just a thought...
why not link this to your blog... in addition to racers, why not pin or tag points on the map where there are rcp owners... probably yellow pins/thumb tacks
and hobby shops blue pins...
and other tracks (commerical)... red pins
probably hobby shop & track... green pins...
hope it works out well to bring other mini-z nuts together...

In Chattanooga we have 2 Wide-L and pit late expansion. We usually set up without the Pit lane, and just use the extra corners and straights in the regular layout.
Here is what our last layout looked like.

That's not a bad idea Herman. I'll have to look at Frappr and see how easy it is to include that information. What's there is a good start. I'll see if we can refine it at all.

Get the timer and they will come.
One thing I've learned, whether it's foosball, air hockey, basketball, or race cars, nothing breads excitement like a timer!! Maybe it's the "official" confirmation of a job well done. I know the "race" to get the last goal, etc. is part of it for sure. Maybe it's just the bells an whistles - like hearing a goofy voice (that you recorded) announce the leader, or having your young child record a voice for your car. Whatever it is, we humanoids respond to the pressure and excitement. Without a timer, many will feel they're just rolling around the track. Not everyone is a car junkie. But hand them a car and give them at least an average chance to beat the timer and they'll be hooked. We like ours so much, I might buy a second just as backup.

Hi Danny,
You have enough room for 3 wide-l's.
There are a ton of layouts you can find on the www.howfastareyou.com web site that use just 2 wide-l kits.
A very cool upgrade is the wide radius turns. They help make your small track faster as you can cut the corner closer. In my opinion, this makes things much more fun.
Another important upgrade is a box of blank ties to make deep turns and three wide lanes.
You should really look into the track editor program that haco wrote. His tool will help you create some tracks based on the room size. Then you can just count the tiles and see what you need.
