I would have never done it to an old AM car for sure, but when it all went 2.4 the drive off the table issue dissolved real quick. About a month ago I had an F1 I was test buildinh with, forgot it on the work bench for a whole night. It just sat there, didn't move an inch! Now if that would've been an AM car, I probably would've had to conduct a search of the basement.

I recommend at least direct solder for the F1 because I have had a few instances with mine and others concerning poor power delivery. If I had a choice between switch removal or direct solder of power leads, it'd be the latter.

But just to be safe... I do both.

I'm still sporting the switch in all my cars, I like the convenience of the switch. I think if I were chasing someone that was just a little faster than me I might give it a try if it can gain me a tenth a lap that adds up.
