Self Centering Damper Bearing Failure

i opened and was assembling this kit i recently bought after favorable reviews locally and upon attempting to insert the bearing into the shock pivot, the inner race exploded out destroying the bearing. i was using an atomic bearing tool to insert the bearing so it should have been a simple task.

how do i go about getting a replacement bearing?

what is the solution to the conflict with the bottom shock base and the adjacent ICS port? i had to notch the base in order to keep my transponder plug hooked in.

These should be correct size bearings if you can't get atomic to replace them.

thanks for the links to bearing sizes. those cost more than the repair set which includes the bearings though. ATO-MR3-033-B maybe the boca bearings are better quality though. the ones in this kit are questionable if one exploded with a simply insert with the proper tool. or maybe my strong of just bad luck continues and got a bad bearing in my kit.

Hi arch, Atomic realized they goofed on the ICS port clearance so they designed the alum bottom replacement differently. You assemble the SCS with the flat towards front of car and no interference problems anymore. Part # MR3-033-ABH.

good to know i need to spend more money to get it to work sorry for the sarcasm, just frustrating but good to know atomic is correcting issues moving forward. i will be ordering the part and hoping this also cleans up a lot of the slop on the plastic parts.

got a new problem to solve today. tried to pop off the ball end of the damper off the ball stand and the thing snapped in half so not i need to buy another repair kit just so i can get all this put back together on the atomic RIS motor mount. more to come on the RIS motor mount...
