Radio for MR02 mini Z

We run a track in RI....we have a box stock MR02 class. The original factory transmitters leave alot to desire...KT18's
Could someone list the transmitters that will work with box stock MR02's?
We are discussing allowing the use of upgraded radios only...no other mods to the cars.
Thanks

If you're replacing KT-18 (ASF), I would say the best, top-of-the-line option is the Kyosho EX-6R, which does ASF and MHS.

Probably next would be any of the Ko Propo controllers that can take a 901sm module. EX-10 Helios, EX-1UR, EX-5 Mars...

If your looking for sub $200-300 solution, look for the 5-UR. has nearly all the features you get in higher end radio's but ASF only. won't work with MHS, which you shouldn't have to worry about anyway as they work with ASF by default.

I'd stay away from the ex5 or 5ur or whatever it was.

If I recall they had some pairing issues and some other janky stuff around other radios... Years ago though so I may simply be misremembering and they may have updated them to work better.

I went with the ex-1 ur myself and still use it. Considering it's age, it held up pretty darn well.

I don't know how hard a 901sm module would be to source right now so the radios with native ASF support might be the best choice.

Contrary to that, the 5ur was rock solid for me. It's still a much loved radio in my area for those still running ASF and not wanting to spend $200+ Much more reliable for me than any of the ASF/MHS radio's.

I was going to msg you saying there was an ex ur with module I saw on ebay, but I see you already sourced a ex5.

I am glad they sorted the 5s out and gave people a good option. Congrats. Unfortunately, I've been looking at some FHSS radios myself lol.
